Fruity-sweet for summer.
A few years ago, the Michael Kors fragrances were heavily and extensively advertised in the local Douglas stores. And the young girls who wanted to be particularly chic had their dads buy them a tote bag from MK for their birthdays. By now, the hype has mostly faded, and the Michael Kors brand seems to have gained a reputation for being popular among wannabe snobs who can't afford Louis Vuitton. I can't say much about it. My relationship with MK has always been rather lukewarm. Fragrances, bags... all quite okay (except for the Island Bermuda scent, which was a flop for me). No enthusiasm, no horror.
Exotic Blossom was a bargain buy for me, and I didn't expect much from it. Even here in the community, it tends to be overlooked. However, I don't find it that bad at all. It does remind me quite a bit of the summer fragrances from Escada. Squeaky, fruity, sweet, and artificial. But it seems a bit less watery to me, quite lasting, and despite the fruity sweetness, not too sugary. I don't detect any hairspray scent either. However, I haven't worn it in cold weather yet.
Mango is dominant from the start. Nice and sweet, not exactly natural, but still pleasant. The rose becomes stronger as the scent develops and has more of a soap-like quality than a floral one. But that's okay; it could also be due to the musk. I don't pick up any vanilla; it might just make the whole thing a bit sweeter. Not much more happens here. So, one can't really speak of a scent development.
For me, Exotic Blossom is a fragrance for squeaky teenage girls who want to smell different from Mexx or Bruno Banani. Sweet, one-dimensional - sure! But just so that if you spray it only twice, it still comes off cheeky and not overpowering.
Recommended if you like sweet and fruity. But ONLY then.
