My favorite citrus scent, yet it leaves a sad trace
I would like to share my thoughts on the exquisite perfume Vert Empire, which has taken my senses on an unforgettable journey. This fragrance completely captivates with its citrus and woody notes. At first, I was very taken by mint.
By chance, I saw and tested the scent one day in the store. It was love at first sight. The top note opens with a refreshing explosion of citrus fruits that instantly invigorate the senses and convey a touch of liveliness. This fresh start gives the feeling of walking through a sun-drenched lemon grove, an experience that exceeded my expectations.

Unfortunately, the longevity of this perfume has disappointed me greatly, as even with 7-10 sprays, it vanished after 2-3 hours. This resulted in the fragrance running out faster than I would have liked.

In summary, I would say it leaves a wounded heart within me. On one hand, it is a masterful creation that indulges the senses and offers an unforgettable fragrance journey. Moreover, it is the best fresh scent I have ever had. However, the longevity was truly disappointing, and I noticed during my subsequent visit to the store that it was more expensive than when I bought it.
If you somehow get a sample, definitely test it. A summer scent you don’t want to miss.

My Favorite Freshie
I have a weakness for so-called ‘freshies’: citrus notes, Mediterranean feeling, olfactory Ligurian atmosphere - yes please! Unfortunately, many fragrances in this genre have three weaknesses - two of which are probably well known; the third aspect may have more to do with me and my skin and/or my incapable nose. First, fresh-citrus scents are usually quite weak when it comes to longevity and sillage. The classic par excellence, Colonia by Acqua di Parma, would be an example here, as would the blue bottles from the same house. This problem, as much as I can say in advance, is not solved by “Vert Empire” in my perception either. A second weakness of many representatives of this fragrance category: the refreshing, fruity notes can quickly come across as artificial. I have no idea why that is - but regardless, no one wants to smell like air freshener or cleaning products. A third point comes into play: I have experienced that many citrus scents quickly develop a very strange, slightly metallic and musty note on my skin. This is the case, for example, with various Aquas from the otherwise highly regarded house of Kurkdjian. My nose is not fine enough to identify the note(s) that lead to this effect.

Now to Vert Empire, a masterpiece of fresh-green perfumery. You can think what you want of Mr. Morillas, but no one can deny that he is an incredibly creative and productive perfumer. I have tested almost the entire range of his Geneva house brand Mizensir and I tip my hat to the consistency with which he pursues his creative line. Of course, I haven't liked all the fragrances, but they are definitely well thought out, and they carry a specific signature: they are subtle, pleasant, and by no means banal or meek creations; they come without grand narratives and other marketing fluff - fragrances that don’t have to prove anything to anyone, from a master of his craft who simply does his thing, without any showboating.

In the end, I ordered bottles of Vert Empire and Ambre Magique, with Mythique Vetiver also being a candidate (and I actually don’t like vetiver!). Vert Empire is, alongside Neroli Portofino Forte, simply the best fresh-citrus perfume I have ever smelled. Despite some synthetic ingredients - which are generally used wisely and effectively in Mizensir fragrances - the scent smells absolutely natural. I am impressed by the perfect balance of ‘fruity’ sweetness and ‘green’ freshness - with many fragrances, the pendulum swings strongly in one direction or the other. For example, when I wear Costa Azzurra Parfum, I smell for a while like a freshly cut lemon - and when I opt for Nio, there’s a rather penetrating, sharp ‘green’ grass note. I really like both of the mentioned fragrances, but here it’s different: the top notes, mandarin and cardamom, are perfectly balanced. Many reviews mention fragrances that remind them of ‘freshly washed white shirts’, of airy linen fabrics on the Italian coast - I have tried many of these perfumes, but only in Neroli Portofino Forte and Vert Empire do I truly find this idea, this impression olfactorily realized. A dream scent, especially now in summer.

It should be noted that I don’t really perceive any development: I notice nothing from sage, benzoin, and sandalwood, but that may not mean much; my nose is notoriously weak. And the longevity doesn’t seem particularly spectacular to me either - however, I am also cautious with my judgment here, because I quickly become anosmic (I can’t smell anything from Baccarat Rouge Extrait after about ten minutes). Either way: Vert Empire is so lovely, so fine and pleasant, that it’s just a joy to spritz on in between.

A magnificent scent that deserves much more attention.

PS: This is my first 'real' review here, I ask for mercy ;)

Pretty solid amber-musky perfume counterbalanced with citrus notes, a bit sweet, a hint a powder as well. 7.25/10

Imagine an awakening spring forest; wearing VE begins with cold aromatic freshness, then warms with bright citrus & a rich woody amber base.

Wow, amazing! The little mandarins are floating in green bathwater. Every now and then, one jumps off the sage board. Refreshing!

A summer morning in a bottle. A beautiful and delicate bouquet full of passion for fragrance. Not a heavy hitter ... a fine one.

Surprisingly delicate "good" synthetic that beautifully accompanies the cardamom/tangerine. Primarily citrus-green, unisex! without sweetness.

In the green realm
Where the mandarins never ripen
The lemons never yellow
The heat finds no refuge
There it smells of vert Empire

Green, slightly woody, classically fresh, a great scent, but unfortunately a bit fleeting.
