Arabian horse lovers will know...

As a horse owner, I can't ignore the name and a little picture of a horse on a bottle. Enough has already been said about this perfume so I'll try and keep it short.

Anyone who ever had a contact with a purebred Arabian horse will know one thing - their stamina, fire and durability are almost unbelievable. Some people find them "over the top", too fiery, too bold, too unpredictable, "too much"... But on the inside, they are delicate, graceful, so "talkative" and bond-seeking, you just have to be attuned to them.

Once you form a connection, you'll soon be able to recognize all of it's finesse, complexity and layers. :-) Beneath that fire, they are sweet and fragile.

That's all I'll say about Arabians Tonka. :-D

Real masterpiece of Pierre Montale.

Wow, I simply love this fragrance: The rose, the cane sugar and the oud in contrast with the tonka bean, make it unique and addictive.
The sillage is extreme (one of the strongest fragrance I have) and longevity is also good, it stays on my skin for around 7-8 hours, on clothes even more.
I would recommend Arabian Tonka for anyone looking for a warm, sweet and rose based fragrance, perfect for the fall and winter (to avoid in summer).
The price is also very reasonable, making it a must-have for anyone who like sugary/sweet fragrances.
Thank you Montale for this creation..
P.S. This is perfectly unisex but on a man is the top!

You will definitely know it’s Montale

As it is a projection beast that lasts and lasts… potent from begging to end, leaving a sillage footprint like no other. Performance wise… perfection…

As to the scent itself?

For me, the Montales that I’ve tried are too “abstract”. They are like the Picasso’s of the fragrance world. Finely done indeed, but beyond my ability to “appreciate”.

I bought this one, (and the other 2 that I tried) because “CurlyFragrance” recommended it (and the other 2 :-P). I agree with her taste MOST of the time, but I can’t vibe with the Montale scents.

This one has a strong tonka note, adds a middle eastern feeling oud accord to it, and pairs it with a rose note that makes it difficult for me to wear. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE some middle eastern frags (Amouage is a favorite house of mine, and I love Shaghaf Oud), but this one is just so loud in performance, and absolutely unique, that I can’t seem to pull it off.

Honestly I wish I could wear it, as I shelled out $180 for it, but this is one I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to wear very often.

Wild horse

Have you ever seen a wild horse ? Or touched one ? Or be touched by one ? Here's your chance.
But you must be very careful because it's also very dangerous.
Arabians tonka opens with a very thick layer. Thick, sugary sweet, leathery, dark and mysterious.
It sure needs time to settle and you need to let it rest. The paper will give you an idea but the best approach is your skin.
So try it on your skin as well, always, no matter the fragrance.
Colder days (and especially nights) when you want to be felt.
Not that mass appealing but still likeable after some time.
Less will be deffinitely more because the performance is atomic.
12+ hrs with a very strong sillage around you for few good hours as well. 2-3 sprays will be more than enough. Trust me, I've used 8 sprays first time and by the 8th hour after I applied .. I just wanted to get some rest but.. couldn't. Guess why. The wild horse was still hard to control. So be careful because it might get annyoing for you and for the others.
Applied with caution will be wonderful. This is on my alley with that sugary sweetness. Just had to limit the dosage haha.
Glad to have this in my collection.

Cloying yet Nuclear

I got this fragrance when the hype really started to begin. Claiming to be 'beast mode' (14+ hours of longevity).

In the opening, I am blasted with sugar for the first minute before a different saffron starts to unveil itself. The mid isn't quickly noticeable as the rose and oud do not combine but rather compliment each other. The dry down then is just pure sweetness being slightly musky but also somehow leathery to my nose.

Not for the weak, It lasted for 2 days as a skin scent and 4 days on clothes (washed once). As the hype has died down though, it isn't really extravagant or a 'panty-dropper' but just a sweet powerhouse.
