Journey to the Orient

The Arabians Tonka by Montale definitely lives up to its name, I think you have this typical oriental, eastern Arabian flair through the saffron, the rose and of course the synthetic oud typical for Montale but of course as in the name a strong sweetness through the tonka bean. Like other Montale fragrances, the harsh synthetic after spraying can be very off-putting for most people, but this subsides after a few minutes and then develops into the oriental fragrance you imagine here with the strong sweetness from the tonka bean and the sugar but also at the beginning with the slightly spicy and oriental-inspired saffron, which in fairness reminds a little of MFK's Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait but generally very solid fragrance for rather wintery, cold and dark days.

Overrated synthetics

I held my nose in whisky before I really started with the perfume, so my nose is quite well trained and I can smell a lot out of it.

I don't understand the good rating of this fragrance.

Brutal synthetics, definitely vanillin, I hate it, both in the food and the smell, the rose is not nice either.

Oud? The perfume. Wasn't even next to it.

For me, a cheap perfume, like in the locker room after school sports with the girls.

In addition, the fragrance is neither as long-lasting nor as strong in projection as it is often described.

This fragrance is really wonderful and lasts a long time! I find it particularly good. I could smell it on my skin for a long time. It's just a typical Montale fragrance - strong, unique and unfolds on the skin in a very pleasant way. The fragrance also has a sweet note, a successful blend of oriental and woody notes, accompanied by exotic spices and woody aromas. Overall, the price-performance ratio is perfect here.

Very beautiful and long-lasting fragrance! I personally find the fragrance very beautiful and special.
I only have it as a sample so far, but I will definitely get the 100ml bottle. I was able to wear the fragrance on my wrist for a very long time and it smelled super pleasant. It smells like a typical Montale fragrance. Very strong, niche and develops very pleasantly on the skin. Personally, I also perceived it as a very sweet fragrance. It is a mixture of oriental and woody notes, with exotic spices, woody aromas and oriental flowers.
A great niche fragrance in my opinion.

A bomb that goes off in winter.

The Montale Arabians Tonka is for me an oriental, very sweet and deep fragrance DNA, and I have to admit that it not only lasts very well, at least for me, but almost too well. One spray in the kitchen, after 1 week you enter it and the base notes are still noticeable in the air! At school/work, 2 sprays are the absolute maximum!!! You can smell it from a distance of 1 meter, but also from 10 meters when walking past. With the right dosage, the fragrance is a real hit at sub-zero temperatures of up to 10 degrees, and can also be used on cooler evenings. By the way: Order all Montale fragrances on their website! You get a 15ml Travelsize fragrance of your choice for free, 2 normal samples, and nice packaging.
