Pure White Silk Robe in Golden Sunshine
Sharing here on Parfumo is truly something special - I was able to snag a small sample of this fragrance, exclusively available at Harrods, relatively soon after its release, thanks again to you, dear Konstantin! :)
Now to the scent: what did I expect? Well, based on the listed notes, I was able to form a pretty clear picture, and in the end, Holy Musk smells exactly as I had imagined it in my mind. The truly rosy rose water dominates the opening and is extremely prominent; this aspect remains unmistakably present throughout the entire development. After the loud opening, a bit of calm soon returns, and a beautiful musk note emerges - combined with the rosy aspect, it creates a pure white grandeur that is unmatched. I immediately had the association of a delicate silk robe wrapped in shimmering sunlight. A gentle breeze whispers through the nearby rose hedge labyrinth, perfectly shaping the beauty of the robe's wearer. In the distance, the ringing of bells announces the arrival of evening, the glaring sunlight turns intensely golden as the sunset heralds the end of the day. You can already sense it: yes, the scent feels very feminine, but it can certainly also be worn by men who want to add a floral-clean grace to their masculinity. Personally, I really like rose scents, and Holy Musk gloriously joins the list of those I would wear without hesitation on any occasion. The only downside: the fragrance has a certain underlying synthetic quality "thanks" to the Montale DNA, which bothers some but not others. It bothers me with quite a few representatives from the house, but not here, as it is really only subtly perceptible. It is neither biting nor scratchy, but simply clean, soft, and creates a beautiful floral mystique.
The longevity is very good; it lasted about 11 hours on me before I could only perceive it rudimentarily. The sillage behaves similarly; after 10-11 hours, it gradually became very close to the skin, but before that, it projected well and was positively perceived by those around me.
A very special and extremely pleasing fragrance that feels even a bit more special due to its exclusivity, where the uniqueness of the exclusivity is not an illusion but indeed justified. Thank you for reading, and to all who get to smell the fragrance as well, enjoy it! It is a very beautiful Montale that is a lot of fun and for me one of the most memorable new releases of the last few months.
