That was a trip
Phew, so I actually only wanted to write a short statement, but somehow I have a few more words to get rid of.

I sprayed it on today to test it and the scent knocked me out in the olfactory sense at first. I saw stars at first, I tell you.

I don't know what I perceived, but it was a lot and so dense that it took my breath away. In any case, I am very sure that the pepper contributed greatly to this fragrance impression.

I first put the test strip away in shock and dared to try it again about a minute later.

Now I suddenly really liked it and the scent was also much more assorted. Really blatantly fruity. Dark cherry and plum - definitely synthetic, but not in a bad way.
The rose is also beautiful, very delicate and fine. Due to the fruitiness, the whole thing does not drift directly into a standard rose-oud fragrance.
So I would have given the safe at least an 8.5/10 in the fragrance progression section.

In the meantime, I was doing sports and even though I only had it on a test strip, I still really noticed it.
There was nothing on my hands, there must have been a really fine spray on my clothes or something, so projection is pretty intense.

Yes, and then comes the drydown and unfortunately I don't like it at all. Lots of amber, lots of musk and of course still a hint of oud, the note always comes to stay anyway.

It's a personal thing for me, fragrances like this last forever, but unfortunately I don't really like this kind of base.

Conclusion: A rollercoaster of emotions, it was fun, there were nice moments, I don't necessarily need it again.

Dionysus' plum wine

First of all, I would like to say this much: next to the Arabians Tonka, I really like this Montale here. It's a tick better than the Arabian, "best horse in the stable!" It's true that most fragrances make me and Montale feel uncomfortable or incomprehensible, but this one is simply different. I like it, in a pleasant way.

For cherry and plum lovers, a real pleasure, especially if you are not averse to a somewhat fizzy, synthetic style. You know enough about Montale. You can just smell it. Experienced noses who have been dealing with Montale for ages will already know what I mean.

Infinity is a real statement perfume. It really pops in the room, literally shimmering with power, like the stagnant air, in the hot sun, the endless desert. It fits into this setting. Orient. Sand. Dionysus pours wine here with relish. You know that plum wine that comes from Serbia, Bulgaria or Moldova? Nice and thick, really strong and sweet. Goes down like oil. Yes, that's Infinity. There is also a fruity cherry in the fragrance, which smoothly joins the fragrant battle. A strong nuance of spice and some resin in the background give the fragrance its strength. Tobacco, rubbed through fingertips, comes on top. Like whipped cream on delicious bitter cocoa. Then a little duller with time and clearly more woody, whereby it is a shallow, warm woody note that does well in the light of the sun. Effervescent warmth from the core of the fragrance that rises to the surface again and again. A little vanilla sprinkled on the edge, taut, warm leather pulled over it. All infused with this so-called synthesis from Montale. Yes, it really hits the spot! Really "in your face"!

But the main theme here is the strong, oily plum, adorned with cherry. I really like it, but the dosage is still a problem. You have to be much more deliberate without damaging your nose or senses. Dionysus didn't have this measure either, so it's all the more exciting if you just gently put a drop behind your ear. Because that's when you realize the power that lies within. The fragrance is there again and again. It hardly lets go. It takes days for it to leave. It still smells on the scarf, even days later. Comforting, warm, pleasant.

I must be crazy to have such a liking for a Montale, I'm sure some people will think. If I hadn't known that this plum wine comes from Montale, I would have put it in a different price segment.

Really harmonious, fruity perfume. Especially for the evening and night-time hours. It has staying power. It simply gives pleasure and I have never been approached so often in such a short time as with Infinity. Used with care, it definitely provides pleasure, especially for people who like strong plum or cherry. If you overdo it, you run the risk of getting a headache.

Beautiful plaume/cherry
Infinity reminds me of a pleasant warm and fruity plum with a hint of cherry or vice versa. I can't put my finger on it, but I find this fragrance beautiful and pleasant. The sillage and durability are great, especially on clothes the scent lasts very long. This is great because the scent is very pleasant on clothes. This fragrance is perfect for a cold winter night.

Plum romanticizes with Cherry
Dense and syrupy, that's how it presents itself in the opening. Plums and cherries cooked with sugar over open fire. Seasoned with cinnamon cardamom and other oriental spices.
Honestly, if you cross out all non-edible ingredients from the pyramid, it actually sounds like a reasonable recipe for a winter fruit punch. Everything is balanced with light woods, not a trace of oud. The tobacco does not come across as burnt or dry at all, but rather like a moist shisha tobacco.

Although there are hardly any fresh and rather dark notes, it has a very youthful appearance. I can also imagine it as a great clubbing/going out fragrance in winter.

All in all a solid thing. I see similarities to Amouroud Oud after Dark or a bit more distant Arasbesque. In terms of style, it is similar to Montale Oud Tabac, but here in a more fruity direction and less honey/vanilla. Longevity Montale typical top.

In terms of the rating, I think it's a bit exaggerated at the moment, but I would give it 7.5-8 out of 10 points. Not hyper-realistic or naturally rich, but that's almost impossible with cherry notes anyway. Simply a solid scent from Montale that is sure to rank in my top 5 from the house.

best Montale
The Infinity is strongly characterized by the cherry, but the typical rose-oud DNA of Montale is also very present here. It is generally sweet, spicy and woody and smoky. Clearly a winter fragrance, but one that you should only wear if you want to stand out and attract attention, for example in the evening on a special occasion, as it is by no means a quiet fragrance. As expected from Montale, the longevity and sillage are very good, easily lasting 10 hours. A clear recommendation from me, it is something special.

Smells like Amouroud Oud after Dark. Sweet plum/cherry mix, almost gooey. Has nothing to do with Homme Ideal EdP.

I mainly get plum, sandalwood, tobacco and sweetness, with a bit of cherry and smokiness. Leans slightly masculine for me.
