With a sprayer on a fragrance journey through Dubai
A single spray on the right arm... let's see what awaits me, I'm curious.
The Baz starts on my skin with an incredible wave of impressions... you don't even know what to smell. Everything flies at you and you are overwhelmed by the power and strength as well as the many impressions that reach you at the same time.
After a few minutes, the fragrance settles. I get a lot of substances from the top note. The fragrance is green and fresh and at the same time very strong and spicy. After a while, I have an incredibly sultry rose... even a whole shrub, which stays with me for a very long time. The whole thing has a somewhat granny-bathwater-like effect. There is also brown, very fine leather and strong incense. The smoke is not really church incense... more like an ashy campfire smoke. The black pepper is also clearly perceptible.
The fragrance stays like this for many hours and keeps pushing other notes slightly to the fore.
Just when I think "okay... that's not my cup of tea", the fragrance changes completely. It becomes much softer, more floral and friendlier. Gone is the incense, the strong spices and the pepper. The rose moves to the fore with the now soft leather and is accompanied by a bed of many bright flowers. Delicate spice underpins the picture.
After almost 10 hours, the fragrance completely changes again... Welcome to the heart note.
I smell sticky honey, sweet tobacco and a bouquet of flowers in the background.
The honey-tobacco mix is very pleasant and extremely authentic and cannot be compared with Naxos. Here, the combination is much more realistic and refined.
After almost 17 hours, we change again and reach the base.
Honey and tobacco turn into sweet pralines, tonka candy and myrrh.
Beautiful, high-quality and simply great... just as I admire this masterpiece, something hits me.
Boom, bang... out of nowhere, loads of oud and animal notes come and spread throughout the room. All accompanied by an almost creamy undertone.
Where did that suddenly come from? Unbelievable.
After 24 hours, chocolatey sweetness, soft oud and delicate woodiness remain. The fragrance is still clearly perceptible and has taken a firm hold on my skin. There is a slight smokiness again.
Wow... how can I describe this? How can I come to a conclusion here?
In short, the fragrance is a masterpiece. It takes you on a journey into another world. I have tested a lot, but I have never experienced a fragrance that changes completely so often.
Here you have another world in front of you and you really have to get involved with it, indeed pay respect to the fragrance.
This is not a strong oriental that you can just wear. There is a lot going on here, which could overwhelm many beginners.
Nevertheless, I am clearly of the opinion that everyone should try this fragrance. In terms of quality (and clearly also price), we have arrived in the premier class. Here you can see the love of craftsmanship, the quality, the know-how and the extreme ingredients, some of which are no longer allowed to be used in the EU.
I'm glad I bought a 5ml sample of this fragrance and maybe one day I'll be crazy enough to buy the (incredibly beautiful) bottle. Until then, there are many more fragrances in the range to try. Abjar and Haibah, I'm looking at you.
So it's been a fantastic journey, which I'm lucky enough to experience more often.
