Hunter-gatherer..
When I want something desperately, I can be extremely stoic and persistent. Especially when the object of desire is almost impossible to find
This is what happens with this scent. Since it was added to the perfume database in 2019, my antennae have been extended. The pastel rainbow bottle and the outrageously seductive-sounding scents had me immediately taken a liking to it.
For weeks I searched all the channels, trying to find something that would make my fingers sore. In vain. I couldn't find the sweetheart anywhere
In the course of the year the fragrance popped up from time to time in some Spanish or Greek online shops. Unfortunately, I was only ever told on my inquiries: "I'm sorry, but we do not ship to Germany!"
*grumble*
When I had almost given up hope, I suddenly and unexpectedly received an automated email from a well-known auction house last week! (Hooray for the possibility to save search queries!!!)
"ITEM AVAILABLE!"
Good things come to those who wait. The smell fluttered into my house today
The first (optical) impression was not disappointing. What a great, high-quality bottle! Shimmering rainbow colours, cuddling doves - what more could you ask for?
The opening of the fragrance is relatively fresh and citrusy, as the top notes already suggest. Usually this is not my case, but here there is a slightly powdery sweetness, which makes the whole thing quite interesting.
A kind of "old school vibe" is also spreading. I don't know the original L'air du Temps, but this is how I imagine it to be. It's been around for a few years now.
As the fragrance progresses, the citrus notes fade away and the scent gains more and more warmth and sweetness. The finish reminds me of the base note of "Pure XS for Her" by Paco Rabanne, which is one of my absolute favourites. Here, however, the popcorn was exchanged for honey, which is why the Ricci comes across a little tamer and less sugary.
For an eau de toilette, by the way, the durability is considerable. The fragrance has been on my skin for several hours and there is still no end in sight.
The waiting, the searching, the hoping, the worrying... It was all worth it in the end. I am happy about my new addition - who can convince both internally and externally, over the whole length! :-)
