A Plunge in Green Freshness
One of the main accords listed of Ege is 'Aquatic'. And although it's not entirely wrong, it's hardly right either.

Mainly, it's a blend of aromatic green freshness, which can easily trick you and pass for an aquatic scent. The violet leaf, in particular, has this very slight aquatic/watery accord alongside its more opulent green, fresh, sharp touches. The aniseed note, not one I'm familiar with, brings a distinct, aromatic spice with an undertone of faint sweetness. And the yuzu note, one I deliberately enjoy, contributes with this vibrant, fresh, citric blend of grapefruit, lemon, and mandarin orange, which is both uplifting, sharp, and with a hint of sweetness. Nice introduction - citric, spicy, green, fresh... and let's also say a touch 'watery'.

Through to the heart notes, and the basil makes its apparition. Green, peppery, a touch sweet, but fairly distinct. The green cardamom brings more fresh spiciness, as well as more buried sweetness, and the mint, not too strong, not too soft, blends in very nicely with its clean and cooling crisp freshness, managing to stand out in this abundant liquor of green, fresh, and spicy.

But the base notes of frankincense and liquorice are not very pronounced; at least not the frankincense. I can pick up some warm, sweet spiciness, reminding me of rosemary and pine sap, attributed to the frankincense. But the liquorice seems a tad stronger, although it is arguably a more singular scent of sweet and warm aromatics, so it does stick out more, to my nose at least. However, this (faint base) does give the fragrance sort of a linear progression. Nonetheless, all of this "green, spicy, fresh, slightly sweet" roundabout has gotten me lightheaded the more I smelled it.

In terms of performance, fresher scents don't tend to do well. And Ege is no exception. Longevity peaked on my skin around 5-6 hours, which is about what I expected. Projection didn't surpass 1 foot the first half an hour, after which it would settle closer to half a foot for the next two-three hours. From there on, it became a skin scent. So yeah, in the realm of realistic expectations.

Ege does take a win regarding versatility. Fresh, green scent, sits closer to the skin - basically anywhere, anytime during the hot weather. Leisure and daily wear in particular... if you can afford to use a Nishane fragrance as your daily wear.

Overall, don't expect to be impressed with Ege. It's nice, it's pleasant, it's definitely NOT an aquatic-first perfume, but a very green, refreshing, spicy blend which to me is actually a bit too much. I can't exactly pinpoint what it is, but I get rather easily lightheaded from it. Nonetheless, you like it or not, I can guarantee that the price is definitely too much for what you're getting. So it's another Nishane pass for me.

Best summer fragrance from the house!
I just got my hands on this, and by far this is the best summer frag from the house!
Yes hacivat is much more potent and much more playful but let’s be honest how many hacivat vibe fragrances are out there? Even with club de nuit 20€ fragrance you can smell hacivat-ish!
Ege is much more subtle, doesn’t scream as loud although longevity is still pretty damn good.I find ege much more classy, much more unique much more interesting that hacivat.
the green and aquatic notes mix very good together the blend is to die for but i am going to mention this is not for everybody, unexperienced noses may find this very harsh but the ones that like it will never get rid of it.
Scent 9/10
Longevity 9/10
Projection 7/10
Value 8/10 because you can still find it for 120-140€ on the market.

The smell of seaweed and egg
Tested this one and was immediately put off by the opening, to the point where I was getting sick. There´s something eggish combined with the seaweed which really made me want to scrub it off instantly.

It seems to get good reviews around, so probably just me and my nose that didn´t dance well with this one. Oh well, can´t win them all.

Green but no aquatic accord
Ege kinda caught me off guard. Was expecting an aquatic over anything else, based on the Aegean name and the blue bottle. However, on actually wearing this fragrance, I really didn't get any aquatic accord. If it's there, it's really buried. Ege is mainly a fresh, green scent. The mint note is done nicely and is blended with the other notes so it doesn't come across as toothpaste. Also, the overall green impression is one of perfect balance contrasted, for example, by my experience with Xerjoff's Nio which is overwhelming green in your face. That said, the very nice initial green with the attractive mint is short lived. Ege begins to evolve in the dry down into a strong cucumber scent with occasional whiffs of sour, almost like pickling. This impression causes me to rate the scent as average. Performance is OK for a green/fresh scent - longevity about 6 hours with decent projection for about an hour or so. Not really for me.

High Quality
A simple perfume of excellent quality. It starts very clean with lots of green citrus and mint. When the licorice is added, the scent gets more depth. The liquorice also provides enough complexity to stand out from other clean citrus perfumes. This perfume along with Wulong Cha is how I expected Maison Francis Kurkdjian fragrances to smell. Unfortunately, these cannot match the quality of Nishane's perfumes.

More of a green freshness than aquatic scent. Some citrus at the start, with a blend of aromatics and a smooth mint dose. Warm, spicy base.

Ege is a breeze coming from the Atlantic Ocean off the Portuguese coast. Aquatically fresh, subtle green, slightly algaey. Good performance.

Isn't this the same scent as Boszporusz? If you have that, you don't need to buy this. Salty/aquatic/green that lasts for a long time.

After a pungent spicy-citric opening, this uplifting aquatic spicy-green Summer fragrance, settles to a gentle and airy spicy-woody base.

Truly sensational and slept on. Fresh, soft, radiant and evocative of the Mediterranean. This is in my view Nishane's finest achievement.

No aquatic notes are actually present but a clever blend of notes gives the impression. Light sweetness softens the violet leaf. I like it!

Yeah, the violet leaf… no. Absolutely not. Rest of the blend is ok.

Doesn't smell aquatic to me. I get a standard barbershop scent (SMW or Mefisto), mostly aromatic fresh-citrus, w/ light incense in the base.
