A simple pleasure perfume
Everyone has a perfume that is analogous to a well-worn sweatshirt. You know the one—it has stains, it probably once belonged to your ex, it’s practically threadbare and it’s at least ten years old. It should be tossed but you’ll never part with it. Parfums de Coeur’s Japanese Cherry Blossom is my time-ravaged comfy sweatshirt of a scent.
It’s not complicated but it hits all the right spots. It’s a pretty pink floral with soapy and musky undertones. It’s quiet and demure. It’s soft without falling into the powder category. It’s simply nice, nothing more or less. It is worth mentioning the dissimilarity between this and Bath & Body Works’ Japanese Cherry Blossom. BBW’s version is loaded with dark fruits and opulent spices. This version is flowers and musk. This is not an exotic mystery in a bottle. It’s what you wear while running errands or lounging around the house, much like that old sweatshirt.
