The Subtle, Unsweet Vanilla

My Pacific Perfumes have traveled a long way to reach me: they come from the land of hobbits, green valleys, kiwis, and Maoris -- from New Zealand. And these are solids in very pretty, eco-friendly wooden containers.

The opening is slightly minty, but this freshness lasts really only about a minute, as shortly after, a creamy vanilla note emerges, which is probably the unsweetest vanilla note I have ever smelled. It behaves exceptionally subtle, and nothing, absolutely nothing about it reminds me of a gourmand fragrance, as I might have expected. I can also sense a hint of spice; there is something warm and slightly earthy that I cannot quite identify. And I think I also detect a tiny animalic note, the very light powderiness makes me lean towards musk.

All in all, I find Pacific Goddess to be a very rounded, pleasant fragrance that could easily pass as unisex. Unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately, the sillage is very weak. While I can still smell the fragrance after an hour (I can't say longer yet), I have to press my nose quite firmly against my wrist from the very beginning to catch a whiff. However, it should be added that since using Parfumo, most EdTs have been too weak for me, and I almost exclusively rely on EdPs, etc., so those who enjoy very skin-like, unobtrusive scents might really appreciate this uncomplicated fragrance.

I have it as a solid - and even there, the sillage is weak.
