Osmanthus incense
Angélique is what I would describe as a cristalline light floral-woody. At first, it feels fresh without a pronounced citrus component. Then the osmanthus becomes clearly the core ingredient, decorated with incense and little iris sparkles. Frankincense plus iris is not what I would normally go for but here they serve only a supporting role to the osmanthus.

Angélique would make a good office scent - pleasant enough to help you through the day in a subtle, introvert way.

A beautiful perfume
This perfume is heart achingly beautiful. The mimosa and orris are perfect partners here and are cleverly blended with a delicious jammy osmanthus.
Not my usual style of perfume but gorgeous nonetheless.

Sweet (My version from around 2015)
Apparently Angelique means angelic rather than the plant angelica the plant being that which comes to my mind first when reading the name of this fragrance.

So setting aside my confusion that this doesn't smell like angelica I wonder what exactly it does smell like to me as I don't get any of the note pyramid springing to my mind.

To me this has a super sweet but not in any way gourmand, cupcake, or vanillic floral. More like a honey floral but not like honey from a jar. It's a cold sweet, sweet, honey like floral top, bright, almost like lifted with lemon but not lemon smelling. The musky smell on me is a little bit "I've been digging in the garden".

As it dries I find it ethereally woody, musky, bit smokey but not in anyway veering into bonfire just a vague wispy smoke, a bit mossy. I've no idea what is in the perfume but I get the feeling of vague woody that I get from Angéliques Sous La Pluie

But overall, it's mostly this lemon but not lemon lifted sweet, cold, honey floral. On me it smells light but feels heavy.

After a brief, brief bright opening this wears very linear on me so not my cup of tea. I can imagine this would be nice on my auntie as she has the type of chemistry that makes 5th Avenue, Chanel No. 5, Chanel No. 19 absolutely sing.

An out-of-the-box makeup-y scent
You're in an 18th-century dressing room. Finally, not your typical makeup-y/lipstick perfume. This feels like a whispered cosmetic touch—super delicate and not overly powdery. Don’t think I’m crazy, but I get this amazing similarity to the beautiful 11 Harmatan Noir by PG (mainly in the woody/balsamic notes).
Mimosa, osmanthus, and white florals open it up, with that unmistakable iris adding a lovely cosmetic vibe—only somehow woodier? Not sure why, but it works.
After 15–20 minutes, a GORGEOUS incense note kicks in—perfectly balanced. It doesn’t take over, doesn’t cloud things. It just elevates the whole thing and makes it even more elegant. (Which is why I say it’s not your average “cosmetic” scent.)
It’s a daytime perfume—elegant, office-friendly, calm-mood appropriate.
This scent won’t get you compliments from people around you...
But that’s their loss.

Floating in Iris Powder Mist
It is biting cold. Everything is white. She seems to almost float over the freshly fallen powdery snow in her long dress and wool coat. Her destination is a small cabin at the edge of the forest. There, a cozy little fire protects against the cold and there is incense. Here she warms up, drinks green tea, and dreams: of blossoms, of sunshine, and a spot on soft moss. The taste of dragées transports her back to her childhood. Strengthened, she joyfully jumps into the snow, creating a snow angel in the powdered white landscape. Yes, winter can be cold and dreary, but it has its own, harsh, sometimes even bittersweet beauty, she thinks, feeling like a little child again, looking forward to the Christmas gifts.

With Angélique, despite the flowers and green notes, I first think of freshly fallen snow, because this scent is cool, dry, and powdery. Added to that are notes of incense and - bam - a bit of childlike anticipation for Christmas arises in me. There is a slight hint of dragées beneath the fluffy, soft powdery layer. Perhaps a bit of heliotrope and vanilla? I don't know, but there are definitely some sweet Polly notes present. Still, the beautiful lady in the snow remains serious, cool, and the green aromas shine through the iris powder mist. The opening is initially smoky-green. Quickly, an iris appears, which first shows a carrot-like quality and gradually becomes softer and more beautiful.

This is elegance in a subtle way. The scent is incredibly delicate and ethereal. If I didn't know I was testing a Papillon fragrance, I would have guessed at first that it was a work by Olivia Giacobetti. I catch glimpses of similarities with the IUNX fragrances here and there. A little talc resonates, also a bit of L’Eau Blanche and perhaps even the cool note of L’Ether. Angélique is a very delicate scent, more aura than perfume. Hence this image of floating over the snow. I am not usually a big fan of powdery scents, but here the powder is so delicate and fine, it feels wonderfully beautiful to me.

Perhaps just right now to enjoy a bit of winter tranquility before the annual stress around Christmas time begins?

A beautiful fragrance that I would highly recommend to iris lovers. I would like to sincerely thank Petra66 for the sample.

Waxy, powdery, pollen-like. Very weird, but mimosa itself smells weird

Mimosa & osmanthus with a creamy, woody edge. I like incense here which adds a touch of mystery. Restrained but interesting

Woody. Airy. A bit creamy and polite.

Wood-fairy floral. Mushroomy orris, mystical blossoms, and sweet incense in a subtle supporting role. Beautiful, earthy, elegant, clean.

Mimosa/iris with powdery clay undertone. The air-conditioned hallway of an old elementary school. Turns into powdery-sweet violet pastilles.

Standing under a magnolia tree in full bloom.
The scent falls heavily, sweetly, and cloyingly upon me.
