Mimosa, Wrapped in Honey
This wonderful fragrance immediately transports me to the Amalfi Coast, where I spent a holiday at a friend's house. It was an old stone house in Positano, with a wonderful view of the sea, and in front of the room, a mimosa tree was blooming and releasing a heavy scent. It was late February, the sky leaden and the sea stone-gray and agitated.
This fits very well with this fragrance, as it is not simply a light spring scent, but a heavy one, and I find it to be a melancholic floral fragrance. Sometimes perhaps a few sun rays dance away,
I distinctly perceive basil alongside the heavy scent of mimosa, as well as the honey that envelops the flowers in a rich, dark embrace. I cannot detect the other notes. The fragrance starts off strongly floral, somewhat fresh, with basil contributing a spicy note to the increasingly sweeter honey. I find the dry down very beautiful; in the end, the scent is smooth, dark, and heavy. A fragrant dance between seduction, longing, and melancholy.
