Zaya Parfums d'Elmar 2022

Honey, apple-cinnamon, and cognac. It's hard not to like the sound of that. Zaya. I truly miss using this fragrance — I haven't used this since last winter, but that's how I am with scents like this. It's like a winter vacation home.

Before I bought this, I already owned Oajan and was told it would be redundant to purchase Zaya, and I agree. If apple-cinnamon pie is your fix, then Oajan absolutely takes that spot. There's no need to purchase Zaya. Testing side-by-side, though, Oajan is noticeably heavier due to the use of both amber and benzoin, making Oajan more masculine than Zaya.

If you want more than just pie, some extra entertainment during the colder seasons — Zaya has some of that booziness to play alongside with. Quite relaxing with a very, very slight fizz underneath the thick honey coating.

Well, what about Angels' Share Eau de Parfum? That has identical notes! They're very similar, but Kilian's A.S. lacks the apple just like Oajan does (a phantom note!). Angels' Share is not as creamy, but quite boozier and sweeter. This makes A.S. a great alternative too. If anything, I'd say Zaya is the fragrance right in between Oajan and Angels' Share.

Back to Zaya. Quite boozy. It's a soft, gentle, wavelike sensation in my nostrils when I take a big whiff. I love the feeling. It must be the viscosity of the honey paired with the cognac and the cinnamon spice missiles. Very nicely blended. Longevity of anywhere from seven to ten hours for me, skin scent by the third hour. Still noticeable at eight during writing of this review.

If you own Angels' Share, you won't need this. The same goes with Oajan. Nuanced differences exist but a similar effect can be had for those looking for that gourmand and/or boozy winter scent.

When the chilly weather comes, I'll be reaching for this or Oajan. The ultimate decision rests on whether I want a cool glass of cognac to go with it.

In my opinion, Zaya will be the most appreciated fragrance of the brand.
It's exceptionally good, a wonderful and tasty apple pie accompanied by light boozy and sweet accents.
It has an excellent sillage, longlasting, in short it lacks nothing.
What makes it special, however, is this scent that refers to childhood memories, to those good and genuine things that are of extreme comfort to us in the most difficult moments.
And so is Zaya (which means hope): the hope of a warm embrace that shelters us from everything and brings us a wonderful smile.

It has come to my attention several times now, that people often compare it to Kilian's "Angels' share". It's not true. It's similiar but it definitely doesn't have THIS spark which Zaya, on the other hand presents beautifully. And let's be totally honest, look at the presentation and try to say truthfully that Kilian did better job. You can't, because he didn't. Parfums d'elmar, totally crush it and that maybe due to the fact that they are quite different scents.

The packaging is absolutely stunning. The cap and the bottle itself are quite heavy, which gives us an immense sense of opulence and class, as expected. The golden cap imitates gold unbeatably, and the emerald- ombre cut glass is definitely doing it's job. But what happens inside, now, that's something.

Right up front, we smell a big amount of cognac booziness that gradually fade into sweet and how beautiful apple and honey. The whole is carefully wrapped up in tad of freshness emanating from bergamot and that righ amount of nutmeg spiciness. What stays with us for almost entire time is undisputably apple, honey and boozy cognac in the back.
What binds together all those elements is cinnamon, date and later vanille and praline. They give us that absolute gourmand feeling which is unforgettable. But to be plain the sweetness in this scent is not tacky at all, and to make it quite certain creator added some animalistic notes to it. Oakwood absolute, sandalwood, tonka bean and amber. They provide us with woody and smoky breath of wind, giving the whole that needed wild base.

I don't think the fragrance is bilateral. And to your suprise I find it more feminine than masculine, because of that sweetness normallny occuring in more lady-like fragrances. The longevity and sillage is absolutely WILD. It's way beyond any charts, it lasts all day and anyone in the room can smell you. After all Parfums D'elmar created an uneven playing field for others. They have come up with the idea of something new, not Extrait de parfum but Qintessence de parfum. That's the highest concentration of parfum you can possibly get. The price is personal preference to be honest, I find it just right for an extremly high quality product like this one, but others may disagree. Anyways, normally I'd say be careful how much you put it on, but who cares, right? You deserve to smell beautifully so grab it and use it as much as you like because you definitely are going to be the best smelling person out there.

Nice Bottle, complex Smell

I own both Angel’s Share and Zaya perfum and for me, Angel’s Share is the clear winner.
It’s fresher with much better sillage and longevity and it lasts all day and gets noticed.
Zaya smells nice , but the sillage is really weak for me and it stays close to the skin, even with extra sprays. If you want stronger projection and lasting power, go for Angel’s Share.

Auf der Suche nach einem Gourmand Winterduft, bin ich auf Zaya gestoßen. Nach dem ersten Test habe ich ihn noch am selben Tag auf der Website von Marc Gebauer bestellt. Die Noten von Praline und Dattel harmonieren einfach perfekt. Meiner Meinung nach ist es eines der schönsten Parfums, die ich je gerochen habe und ich würde ihn jederzeit wieder kaufen. Der Duft hat mir viele Komplimente von Freunden und Familie eingebracht. Zaya ist einfach ein Meisterwerk und gehört in jede Gourmand-Kollektion.
