Unisex fragrance?

I really wanted to test Layton since I liked Animale Animale. Today I compared both. Layton starts fruity and powdery with a strong sillage, then the scent becomes finer; I think I can detect something woody like Ambroxan. After four hours, the scent fades significantly for me and becomes stale. In the end, however, a pleasant (but too sweet for me) scent remains on the skin. In my opinion, the two perfumes are similar but differ significantly in detail. Layton might be a unisex fragrance, but I can imagine it being more suitable for a woman. It is softer and sweeter; I think vanilla is very popular with women (at least among my female colleagues). AA comes across as distinctly more masculine; it is harsher and stronger (amazing sillage), becoming earthy and smoky over time. The scent also doesn’t last as long for me, and the dry down of AA is disappointing. Somewhere, the price difference is noticeable.
