Althaïr Exclusif Parfums de Marly 2026

Althair Exclusif is definitely the big brother of the regular Althair for me. You can tell that the two are meant to belong together, but in my opinion they still differ quite noticeably.

With Exclusif, the saffron comes through very strongly, immediately giving it a spicier and somewhat darker direction. The warm, creamy vanilla is added to this, making it seem more intense and heavier overall. In contrast, I find the regular Althaïr softer, sweeter and more straightforward.

You can definitely tell that the Althair DNA has been picked up here, but to me, Exclusif still feels like an independent fragrance. That's exactly why I find the comparison to the big brother quite fitting.

However, I do have the feeling that the current Althair hype is also being capitalised on here. Following the success of the regular Althaïr, an even more exclusive version is now being released at a correspondingly high price. To me, it sometimes seems as though they simply want to make some additional money from the hype.

The fragrance is definitely not bad on the contrary, it is high-quality and has strong performance. But personally, I prefer the regular Althair and would also be more likely to choose that one.

The definition of exclusive in this context would be "elitist", "only for a select circle". This raises the question: who exactly was this Althair variant made for?

I was convinced it would appeal more to women, since the cherry note or rather amaretto should lend it a sweet accord.
Now I am testing the "elitist" Althair on my left arm and the regular one on my right. At first - a very medicinal, very stern note stings my nose - cough syrup? It stays that way for a long time. This is neither cherry nor amaretto. More like cherry syrup or amarena liqueur. Very strong sillage. After some time this note evaporates, and I smell the same Althair on both arms. If I am in the mood for a cherry fragrance, I would reach for Duchessa, or Chemin D'Amande, or Lost Cherry. Because they remain cherry-like right through to the end.
So, who was this "exclusive" Althair made for then ;))?
But to each their own - perhaps the gentlemen will find it more interesting after all...
