Dorval Parfums de Marly 2026

I’m not sure what everyone else will think about this but it’s day 1 for me with this cologne and wow….JUST WOW!!!! I absolutely love althair and I think this would be an amazing layering combo. But even just Duval by itself to me is absolutely stunning. Sweet yet masculine….Soft but then BOOM!!! 100/10 would absolutely recommend. Oh and by the way smelling it on a piece of paper does NOT do it justice make sure if you want to test it spray it on your hand.

More than half of the fragrance world had zero idea that Dorval was releasing and PdM did it no favors by giving it the "here damn" bottle design. Looks like the forget to paint the damn thing! Which is a shame because this is an actually solid release from the brand that has taken flack for its recent fragrances and choices.

After testing this over the weekend with a variety of other people, we have come to the conclusion that Dorval is a skin-chemistry based fragrance. For me, I get loads of the tonka off the top mixing into the cinnamon to create an almost amaretto, fruity accord. It builds off this character with some more muted citruses, nothing brash, as the fragrance tries to lean more into the warmer character, with citruses just aiming to give it more energy rather than being a main facet. The fragrance doesn't change much off the initial spray, with the only noticeable change being a more smoky undertone that begins to build up as the fragrance continues its lifespan. With the niche world continuously getting more and more derivative, Dorval actually feels different as we close into the Fall months. It's a shame the marketing department deciding it wasn't worth showing off with Althair Exclusif coming soon and hogging the spotlight.

Overall: 7.5/10
This doesn't reinvent the wheel but as a spicy sweet combo it certainly does carve out its own little spot in a saturated market.
