Dr. Pöppelmeier Blossoms

'Love Potion' - with this title, the manufacturer may not have done themselves a real favor. Alternatively, I might have preferred to test it totally blind. However, it is now unavoidable that the scent progression comes across as somewhat signpost-like for me and unintentionally conjures up comical images. Like a somewhat banal and predictable scent comic. It should be expressly emphasized that this has nothing to do with the quality of the aromas, which is consistently good and appropriately natural-smelling at Phoenix.

First image: Dr. Pöppelmeier, a teacher of French and English, stands at the stove. In a large cast-iron pan, she is roasting cloves and peppercorns to extract a more intense aroma from them. Through an auto-oral administered dose of this, she intends to give her complexion a more natural warmth and color than mere blush can achieve. She rarely cooks for herself, as the effort for one person is usually too great. Therefore, she misses the right moment, and it suddenly smells quite burnt. Almost like charred plastic. But there's no helping it, down it goes! Phew… Well, at least it does get warm for her.

Second image: From an old box, left behind by her late mother, she rummages out a bottle of jasmine essence… and hesitates for a moment. As a child, it was always a bit uncomfortable for her when her mother wore this scent, as her father would always behave so strangely. But there's no helping it, on it goes! She grimaces - oh dear, and this is supposed to work? To her, the whole thing seems rather harsh and stinky.

Just be patient, Dr. Pöppelmeier, it will be alright!

Third image: The Christmas party of the faculty is in full swing. Dr. Pöppelmeier feels very comfortable, as the scent has now become opulent and sensual, underpinned by an earthy-woody hint that befits a sophisticated lady. She has certainly noticed that Principal Wüthrich, a shy classicist, has already thrown her a glance or two. Apparently, he dares not do more. Should she dare to issue an invitation to dance herself? There's no helping it, out with it! And finally, the two of them turn, with initially hesitant and awkward steps, towards a happy ending.

I thank Fluxit for the sample.

Another wonderful comment about a fragrance that makes me a little curious.
However, I now also have "Love Potion N° 9" stuck in my head; well, who knows what it's good for.
A trophy for you, specially for the "witchcraft"!

I'm very cautious with fragrances that are called Love Portion or claim to be one, or try to imitate pre-defined or fake love potions!

I suspect that soon the old philologist will really live up to his name - and maybe Dr. will be cooking a bit more often, ;-). No choice - onto the list it goes!

Love potion, I thought of the Dsquared fragrance - not a great name choice.
An old philologist... :o)

At first, I thought she wanted to prepare an Indian dish, where you also roast the spices or curry first. Love Potion? Pah, always these false promises.
