A lavender stands in the woods... wrapped in honey...

As a teenager, I once had a box, a box for and by witches, herbalists with rituals, instructions, and love spells. It contained oils, candles, herbal mixtures, and incense.
The reason was the immortal love of a 13-year-old for a 16-year-old, whose name I don't even remember today and whom I really got to know at 18/19 and, how could it be otherwise: I found him unbearably boring. Luckily, the love spell didn't work.
After briefly sniffing various scents from this brand, I vividly remember that box, which I cherished and cared for; the mixture of herbs and oils smells exactly like the opening of the hiking letter.

I have a quirk, a tick. No matter where I go and stand, I have to run my hands over every lavender bush while walking and smell my hands. Lavender can smell so different, and the season also determines the olfactory impression. So it was logical that Lavender Noir had to be tested right away.

The opening is pure lavender, so intense and dark that I have to sneeze immediately. Very concentrated, almost metallic, it smells so ethereal. The lavender runs clearly through the entire development but weakens in its intensity, giving space to the other ingredients.
In close view, smoke (fades quickly) and mushrooms (more like sprouts, a hint under the foliage), honey or honey resin drips from the trees, very delicate, more in the background, the wind carries the scent of wildflowers.
In the distant view, one gets the impression of a shadow lavender, deep violet in color, in the woods. A quiet and calm place, a clearing without light, the forest is untidy, natural, the ground steams; when the sun shines a bit soon, the mushrooms will sprout abundantly. Right behind it, a meadow. This lavender blooms in autumn. It shifts between cold and warm.

Now I don't know if it's due to the cautious dabbing, but the scent is subtle after the powerful opening, the sillage is very moderate, almost more intimate.

Lavender Noir is deeply calming and grounding. Perhaps more aromatherapy than perfume, although it will surely smell very attractive on the right person. More perceived as a personal body scent. Personally, this honey note is too present for me, and the scent becomes too quiet in the further development for me to want to wear it.
Otherwise, a recommendation for lavender honey lovers who enjoy a bit more nature in their scent and want to be subtly scented.

Beautifully and appealingly written! I'm one of those people who has to sniff everything that has flowers. And some shrubs really do smell lovely. Lavender always works for me, but with this scent, I'm not sure if it will make it to my wishlist...

I have to admit that this witch, herbalist magic box intrigues me more than this scent. I would have liked to have that too :-). Your comment was great again.

Sounds good, except for the honey, which is usually too sweet for me.
I also always think that sprayed fragrances have more sillage than dabbed ones :o)

Ah, that sounds delicious! I'd rather eat than smell like that. Underwood trophy.
