Interesting Facts
In 1864, the Mary Celestia, a Civil War blockade runner, went down off the coast of Bermuda. The intact wreck was discovered in 2011 and therein divers found, among other things, two intact perfume bottles labeled "Piesse & Lubin London". Analyzed in 2013, it was found that they presumably contain this fragrance. It's said that "Bouquet Opoponax" was the most popular fragrance of the London firm at this time. Jean-Claude Delville and Lionel Nesbitt led the analysis of the fragrance at Drom and together with Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone, the owner of the trademark Lili Bermuda, they plan to make the original scent available for the public, as well as to release a modern version of the fragrance based on the formula of the discovery.
