Interesting Facts

Italian fashion label Police was founded in 1983 by De Rigo brothers as the first brand of their company 'Charme Lunettes'. Originally, the Italian company focused on producing sunglasses for other brands. But it wasn't long before Police's creative eyewear designs attracted widespread attention and became a huge success. This breakthrough encouraged the founders to add fragrances to their range in 1997, marking the beginning of numerous successful collaborations. Watches were added from 2003, followed by jewelry in 2005, small leather goods in 2011 and finally apparel.

From the beginning, Police, with its strong identity and refined designs, embodied the free and rebellious spirit of those people who do not adhere to conventions. The brand has also always been known for its stylistic leitmotifs, especially the color blue. In the 90s, Police was the first brand to introduce blue mirrored lenses, which became its trademark. This unique element was later adopted in all Police accessory categories and can be found in the latest collections as well.

The brand draws inspiration from different cultures, music, streetwear and art and relies on unconventional shapes, eye-catching patterns and a love of detail in the design of its products. Today, the Italian label still stands for a willingness to take risks and a spirit of discovery. Celebrities such as Tamer Hosny, Paolo Maldini, Bruce Willis, George Clooney, David Beckham, Neymar, Ji Chang-wook and Antonio Banderas have already become Police brand ambassadors.
