Decent sweet oud but nothing new
First wearing of Paco Rabanne 1 Million Golden Oud, the most recent release from the 1 Million line, following 1 Million Royal, of which I was not big fan. Golden Oud is an improvement, for sure, a sweet-leaning oud/woody/generally resinous blend with an assortment of spices that make it a bit gourmand-leaning, even. It’s strong but does not smell terribly unique and is a bit forgettable, as it sort of smells a lot like other perfumes I’ve smelled in the past handful of years without really distinguishing itself in any special way. It’s not bad at all, but just misses the mark of something new or special within the line.
The only point of sale that has it (that I’m familiar with) is Jomashop, a secondary market website that operates in the US, in which it’s for sale for $130 for 100ml. Fortunately, the fragrance performs very well and the value is not too bad as far as the line goes if you’re particularly into it, but I’m just not.
