Ralph's Club New York Ralph Lauren 2025

Everything about this fragrance is good. It smells good. It presents some depth over time. Performance is good. Sillage is good. Hell, even the price is pretty good. You could probably make it work year round. The dumbest of dumb reach type fragrances.

Summed up more positively everything about this fragrance is well above average, not mind blowing, but without many glaring flaws. I don't think you can say that about a lot of new fragrances these days. The worst thing the snootiest collector could possibly say about it is that its DNA is a bit boring but even then I feel the blackcurrant found throughout elevates it higher than most freshies on the market.

It's not here to reinvent the wheel, but even to the untrained nose of a newbie (like me) in 2025's Designer mass appeal arms race (up against similar recent green freshies like Boss Bottled Bold Citrus and "Paradigme | Prada"), Ralph's Club New York is the clear winner by a country mile.

When I think about Ralph Lauren fragrances I usually think about the World of Polo Line for their sporty fragrances but I really enjoy this Ralph's Club NY.

I really like the blackcurrent note on this one, making it for me a nice fresh and fruity fragrance while staying sweat and creamy.

The first time I wore it, I didn't think people around me would notice it, but I received a lot of compliments, far more than when I wear niche perfumes.

I would recommend this one for men who are looking for a going out/date fragrance that will be noticed while staying subtle. In my opinion the sillage is very great on this one but without being too agressive for anyone.

My girlfriend also really enjoys and would even wear it herself.

I highly recommend taking a look at this one if you are currently looking for a designer fragrance.

I purchased this bottle on a complete blind buy because I really liked the note breakdown and even more so the bottle and boy oh boy was I NOT disappointed!

Ralph's Club New York opens up with this sweet (but not cloying to my nose) and creamy blackcurrant that takes front and centre stage over everything else in the opening. The bergamot and orange are not very noticeable to my nose and instead seem to play more of a supporting role and balance the opening out.

RC New York is not a completely linear scent, however it doesn't stray too far from the opening, the lavender and sandalwood in the heart notes add a level of freshness and masculinity without overpowering that sweet blackcurrant, and the vanilla we get later on in the dry down only adds to the sweetness and creaminess of this fragrance.

As for longevity this performs VERY well on my skin and even better on clothing. You really can catch whiffs of this stuff all day, and even when you no longer can due to olfactory fatigue, trust me when I say others still can. You will smell this stuff on your clothes DAYS later.

Now for the bottle; The bottle of RC New York features a cool refillable, flask like design, it has a hinged flip open lid that "clicks" in place nicely when closed. The glass for the bottle is quite neat as well and has a beautiful (albeit fingerprint magnet) "chrome/mirror" finish that, at first glance, looks like you can't see into it to see what your juice levels are at, however, when held up to the light, you can see right through the bottle and see exactly how much juice you got left in your bottle which I think is a very nice touch.

All in all, Just like every other fragrance out there not EVERYONE is going to like this scent, however, if you are looking for a fresh, but sweet, masculine winter scent and are unsure if you would like this, I highly suggest getting yourself a sample or trying this fragrance out in store before committing to a full bottle.

Overall, I am giving RC New York a solid 9/10 and I will certainly always have a bottle in my rotation.

I got a sample of this from the overbearing ladies at Macy’s, even after I had rejected it off a strip. I ended up buying the new Spicebomb Metallic Musk, which is very much in my lane as a 50 year old. But I decided to give Ralph’s Club New York a try at home and yeah, it’s yet another bubblegum sweet teen bopper scent. Yes on the drydown there is a bit of a switch but that juicy fruit bubblegum forward scent the young men need, lingers way too long. If you want to smell like a fruitcake then this is up your alley.

I snagged a bottle off of Mercari because I was craving something I could just spray on and smell nice without putting much thought into it. Ralph’s Club New York is just that. The definition of “dumb reach” with a little bit of character. The black currant note in this is what saves it from being an absolute snoozer. It gives it a tart little something something off the top. The opening is reminiscent of YSL Myslf EDP, only Ralph’s Club is done way better and doesn’t smell like Smarties. It also has lavender instead of orange blossom in the heart which was also a relief. I’m so sick of the orange blossom trend, but I digress.

It has nice longevity and projection, and the bottle is very attractive. I think it would be appropriate for Spring, Autumn, and Winter. I’d hesitate to use it during summer because this is a sweet fragrance that has a vanilla base.

Right now, at retail, or close to retail price, I wouldn’t say this is a good buy. But I think this fragrance will really be an exceptional value buy when discounters get stock of it and the prices drop.
