Great limited edition
I also had the chance to test this new release at a Meet and Great with Herbert Stricker (Herbert is really extremely friendly and it was very exciting to listen to him).
But now to the fragrance:
This fragrance does not differ directly due to a higher proportion of fragrance oil, as a further increase was not successful in the production of the fragrance, as the original was already very strong. Accordingly, this is a new interpretation. If you now think that it is a completely new fragrance, you are wrong.
The typical 17 Rosso DNA is recognizable at first sniff alone. Here, however, the opening has been altered to be more fruity and pleasant and, for me, raspberry and blackcurrant dominate. In my opinion, this makes the fragrance more rounded and softer.
As the fragrance progresses, the flowers have been removed and replaced by a light sweetness with woods that linger in the background.
The base is then formed by sandalwood with patchouli, which gives the fragrance its final touch.
Personally, I like this one much better than the normal 17 Rosso, as I never really liked the floral spiciness of that one and the 17 Rosso Limited Edition finally provides the perfect counterpart to the normal one.
In my opinion a complete success!

I have been waiting for you...
Hello everyone,

today I would like to say a few words that will certainly be exciting for some of you.

Foreword 1:

When I found out that there would be a stronger version of the Marzocco Extrait de Parfum, I thought that the GOOD Mr. Stricker would also "pimp" the normal 17 Rosso at some point and apparently it worked out...

Foreword 2:

I used and loved the 17 Rosso for a relatively long time (for years and had several bottles myself), it was my go-to fragrance - always use it without much thought and it fits...

Foreword 3:

Anyway, when I found out he was def. coming, I have/had certain wishes .... let's see if those have been realized!

________

About the scent:

First of all, it has to be said that the core of 17 Rosso is there (fortunately), it somehow seems like a facelift, which is really good for the year. And it has NOT been broken!

However, it has to be said that the relatively dominant male rose is hardly present here, because it plays more with the fruits and an earthy (pleasant) creaminess and very pleasantly coordinated woods..

This time the focus is more on the raspberry and yes it fits very well in my opinion and NO, it has nothing of the "London | Widian / AJ Arabia" + Ombre Nomade because of the raspberry. The fragrance is independent and I think it does a lot of things right and well (+).

How is it received and when do you wear it?

It's a bit different to the 17 Rosso, but it's absolutely the same in every respect, except for midsummer - ALWAYS and it goes down just as well. It's almost uncanny how well it goes down, because it doesn't matter whether you're young or old, male or female and no matter what time of day....

But indirectly, this is exactly what I expected...!
I'm not a friend of what I'm doing now, but I think it's important to mention it and it's about the PRICE! As of today, used ones are a little over 250 (almost new) and this in relation to today's prices that are traded here (XJ, PDM, MFK, Roja, etc.) it almost borders on a fair price to inexpensive....

H/S:

As expected, very good (ever) in the sense of loose 11h and more, something like this nowadays is anything but bad and "PITY" relatively rare to find today (with current batches).

That's why I give it a clear test recommendation!
My sample "ran out" in a very short time, which is a slightly "suspicious" behavior in itself...

And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you are reading this review, LG the Benny

A great reinterpretation of 17 Rosso
Yesterday I had the chance to test the new 17 Rosso Limited Edition at a meet & greet event with Herbert Stricker in Vienna I was very impressed by the fragrance as I am already a fan of the classic 17 Rosso.
The difference for me here is clearly the fruity nature of the fragrance. Saffron and mint are no longer to be found here; instead, raspberry and blackcurrant play the leading role in the opening.

The floral notes have also been omitted here and have been given a deeper woody-creamy facet. For me, the oud does not come to the fore here or is not perceptible individually. Rather, there is just a little kick here.

However, I personally like the final fragrance image best, which is rounded off by sandalwood and patchouli. Which, in my opinion, makes it a little more mature and thus pulls it from the somewhat feminine side absolutely in the unisex direction.
I think this one will pick up even more people.

Tangier, fruitier but a little more depth.

I like this interpretation of 17 Rosso even a tad better than the classic one.

Lasting power and sillage are just as good as in its predecessor, as it contains the same high proportion of fragrance oil.
Great new interpretation!

The new release "Patina" is beautiful and one I'm really looking forward to.

Blasphemy or pleasing modernization?
The regular 17 Rosso, or more precisely the original version before the reformulation, is one of my absolute favorite fragrances. I find the DNA incredibly successful and can lose myself for hours in the sweet mishmash of rose and peach. The fragrance has an insane elegance, a brutal H/S and exudes a unique niche character, but is still well received by the average Otto nose.
In my opinion, the regular 17 Rosso is wearable for almost any occasion and any season (apart from perhaps (high) summer).

This is where I bridge the gap to the Limited Edition. The Limited starts off much fruitier. I can clearly smell the blackcurrant and raspberry throughout the fragrance. Above all, however, it is the first 2-4 hours that are primarily carried by the blackcurrant and the absence of mint, which are the biggest difference to the regular 17 Rosso. This makes the fragrance much fruitier overall, less heavy and therefore more modern and "mainstream". I am absolutely not against fruity fragrances and I really like wearing them. However, I don't think that Rosso DNA needed any more fruitiness for me. It makes the fragrance even more mainstream and therefore more wearable for me in warmer temperatures, but in my opinion it detracts from the original Meisterwerks DNA.

H/S are astronomical as usual, I know few fragrances that perform like this, even though I have some H/S top candidates in my collection. I only find that in direct comparison, the regular 17 Rosso projects a little more in the first hour due to its minty radiance.

After 2-4 hours, the new fruity "spook" is largely over and we reach the original (reformulated) Rosso DNA. In a direct comparison, differences can of course still be detected here, and the fruity blackcurrant accord can still be perceived for a long time on a test strip. There is also a slightly woodier undertone, which is why you can distinguish between the two versions quite easily in a blind test at any time.

Conclusion: long story short, the classic 17 Rosso is an affair of the heart for me. A 10/10 fragrance that gets a point deduction from me even because of the slight changes in the reformulation. For me, the original version remains the undisputed number 1!
Nevertheless, the Limited is a great interpretation based on the well-known and popular DNA. Anyone who finds the regular Rosso too rosy and perhaps a little too staid should be well served by the fruity reinterpretation, provided you can relate to the actual DNA.

Anyone considering buying a 17 Rosso should definitely try both versions to get an impression. I suspect that the Limited might appeal more to the masses. However, the price difference alone would be a no-brainer for me and I would always go for the normal 17 Rosso and, if possible, one of the first batches before reformulation.

For owners of the regular Rosso, however, the question arises, do I really need both?

Same DNA only better?
Received the fragrance this morning and after testing my personal opinion:

The opening is dominated by fruity notes of raspberry and blackcurrant, which give the fragrance a pleasant sweetness and softness. Removing the floral roses makes the fragrance much more pleasant. In the "normal" version, I actually found the floral notes too penetrating with such a performance.
Over time, a beautiful combination of sandalwood and patchouli unfolds in the base note, which gives the fragrance a certain depth and seriousness, which I think makes the fragrance very exciting. These fruity notes paired with a citrusy accord give us a somewhat playful fragrance that still retains its maturity thanks to the base and the leather in the heart Overall, I find the fragrance more balanced and finely tuned than the normal 17 Rosso without losing this typical 17 Rosso DNA.
In terms of performance, I can say that it has not lost anything! The durability and projection are still well above average.
However, I would not recommend the fragrance to anyone who does not want to miss the floral notes of 17 Rosso.
However, if you don't necessarily need those floral notes, this will be the better option, I'm quite sure.
