An "Out-Flight"
For a long time, I searched for him, "observed" him, and "sneaked" around him, the 51 Pour Homme....
But why exactly the 51 PH? I can't say for sure...
I really like many creations by Roja Dove, and some of his masterpieces enrich my collection, for which I am very happy and grateful... For me, many fragrances by Roja Dove are simply art - PERIOD.
But back to my strange "obsession" with 51 PH:
I kept looking at the fragrance notes and imagining how it might actually smell... Thanks to Parfumo, I also got some impressions through the comments and statements of the community, but the perception of scent is always very different and personal....
Do you know that feeling? You have this fragrance constantly in your head and wonder what it might be like, and you just want to have it, even if you don't really know how it actually smells and whether you will like it... (You could also call that addiction, but let's just leave it at that ;-P
For months, I "stalked" around the fragrance, considering whether to order the Heritage version directly from Roja Dove or to wait and see if a bottle would appear in the souk....
After weeks and months of keeping an eye out and pondering, I finally decided to order the 51 PH Heritage directly from Roja Dove... (According to the fragrance pyramid, the 51 PH perfume version from 2017 and the Heritage version have the same structure - has anyone tested both? What differences are there?)
The ordering finger was quick, and bam - it was done!
A feeling of joy overcame me, and of course, I wondered: "What if I don't like it at all?" Not that this was my first blind buy, but because I had thought about the fragrance for so long and imagined it, I was even more curious...
Well, the excitement was there, and I could hardly wait to finally have 51 PH Heritage in my mailbox....
When 51 PH Heritage actually arrived after 10 days and I took it out of its packaging, I was super happy and, of course, full of anticipation...
One-two-three, eyes closed and sprayed once:
51 PHH opens with zesty citrus notes, accompanied by a subtly sweet lavender, not herbal or grandma-like.... rather something "fresh-soapy"...
- A flight of the senses... the scent feels bright, fresh, and open in the opening....
Immediately after that, gentle floral tones follow - surrounded by delicate spices and a hint of sweetness....
I can clearly recognize ambrette, vanilla, as well as benzoin and a touch of oud....
- The scent becomes a bit "darker" here... It starts bright and fresh, then gradually becomes darker and more mystical - very exciting....
Later, resinous-earthy tones, fine woods, and a touch of leather come into play...
- The scent drifts a bit more, becoming a little darker and earthier...
For me, the 51 PH Heritage is like an "out-flight":
...you start fresh, take off, float over mountains and valleys, high up.... then it goes a bit lower, past flowery meadows, through deep forests, the earth swirls up, you enter a dark cave, it smells earthy dark, mystical, and enchanted... out of the cave again, it's evening, the flight slows down a bit here, everything happens very slowly now, you no longer float, you walk now... slowly forward - from a distance, you see a paddock with horses - the leather saddles ready .... - you recognize it, but it is far away... you lie down on the ground and let your thoughts sink, looking up at the sky, the sparkling stars, until the out-flight ends here....
A quite complex fragrance with so many facets!
In my opinion, the "pour Homme" could be omitted from the Heritage version, as I find the scent is absolutely unisex...

Great comment!
I personally love blind buys every now and then. I don't want to miss the experience of diving in without control, and I'm okay with the possibility that a scent might not suit me or I might not like it. I’ll test it again later in a different season or on a rainy day. If we still don't become friends, I'll just gift it.
I guess I really have to try it now. Maybe you'll sell me a sample?
