Soapiness knows no bounds... Soapiness shows no mercy...
Of the newer Sisleys, the "D'Ikar" is probably the most "sisley-esque"... Hissing-citrusy, clear parallels to the old "Eau d'Ikar". Iris has rarely been so blunt and cold. I like it a lot. Maybe even very much. Especially from the fridge in the height of summer!
"L'eau Revee D'Ikar" is a very consistent, aggressively sparkling bitter orange businessman. There's not much to write about it - especially if you know the "Eau D'Ikar" from back then. This one is a bit facelifted and more modern, more potent and clearer in its outlines, its direction, its potency. But fundamentally, the two fragrances are very much on the same wavelength. And I liked the classic - so I also like this more powerful semi-relaunch. Its herbal aquatic aspect appeals to me. Between Poseidon, Mediterranean spice garden, and silverfish.
Bottle: simple but not ugly. The classic is prettier, though.
Sillage: a bit stronger than other citrus fragrances due to its powdery soapiness.
Longevity: 4-6 hours - I can (literally) work with that!
Conclusion: the olfactory embodiment of Sisley... Sparkling, citrusy, old school, unisex, soapy, timeless. Absolutely summer cool.
