Deep Førest Skandinavisk 2026

I smelled this and other fragrances when they did a pop-up at my local store. Many unique and interesting scent, but I played it safe and sampled the forrest scent, my usual favorite. I wished I sampled another.

It's not a bad scent, but it does not resemble a deep forrest. At first it just smell clean, masculine.

But luckily, as it settled, the wood emerged. Nothing like damp earth, moss, misty pine trees or anything green. More like how a cabin would smell, when you enter it after a long day outdoors. The light wooden walls are warmed by a fire, dried berries are hanging from the roof, cozy socks on your feet, and your dog is sleeping peacefully by the stove, its fur is warm and soft. Very hygge.

Comforting and familiar, but still a little too “perfumey” for what I hoped the name would deliver.

Deep Førest started with a dream of a fresh, juicy green forest experience (Chapter 1 is not so different). However, after about 2 minutes, this green freshness that I liked so much is instantly gone. But you shouldn't give up and write off the fragrance just yet (at least not on the skin - on the test strip, there was hardly anything left to smell after the initial burst) - slowly but surely, mentholated wafts begin to spread, coming to stay.
Woody, softer notes join in and manage to maintain the deep forest vibe - albeit differently than I expected at the beginning, and the fresh needles are rather off the mark.

A few days later, several samples are at my home, and the first fragrance I want to introduce to you is Deep Forest.

The scents and the brand seem to be rather unknown here, so a few words about the brand beforehand.
The brand is based in beautiful Denmark, specifically in its capital, Copenhagen. Founded in 2012 by an Englishman who fell in love with the Scandinavian country during many travels. He quickly found a partner, also an Englishman, and they made it their mission to carry the beauty of Scandinavia into the world through fragrances. The goal is to create subtle yet sophisticated scents that reflect the unique impressions of Scandinavia.

Today, we want to start with the forest.
Deep Forest captures the association of "forest" in an outstandingly good scent profile.
Not too fancy, not too modern, not overly creative, but solid, pointed, and genuine.

The fragrance starts deep green, distinctly ethereal, herbaceous, and spicy. Like a plunge into cold water, which is initially perceived as somewhat more intense compared to a few minutes later when the water feels purely pleasant.
Spruces, pines, and other conifers throw their ethereal natural juices around, strong and intense. With a little time, the intensity fades, and juniper and cedarwood integrate almost outstandingly! A fresh, airy forest breeze flows through the depths of the forest, visible sun rays pierce the underbrush.
Deep Forest presents itself on my skin consistently green, woody, fresh, slightly ethereal, and finely balanced. Over time, after about 2 hours, slightly sweet resin notes emerge, softening the freshness without eliminating it. Some may claim it seems simple, I assert: It is fascinating.

Rowan berry and pink pepper are not clearly filtered by my nose, but they likely lighten the woody structure a bit and provide a harmonious spiciness over time.

Deep Forest meets my taste; I appreciate the seemingly simple yet very precise art of fragrance. Refined but subtle, you remember, right?
