A Ride Too Short
This is a sample I got from Liz Zorn, and writing that makes it sound like I know her personally; I don't, of course. When it goes on, it's a slightly sweet, slightly stale vetiver. It develops into a tobacco/vanilla, fruity, hops-infused scent that reminds me of one of the fragrances of L'Occataine (and whenever I say L'Occataine, I want to rap it like "L'Occataine Badarain, L'Occataine Badarain, come on!") -- maybe even Badarain itself. It's got this caramel zing to it also. That's the first fifteen or so minutes.
After an hour or so it remains a non-gourmand sweet, fruity, musky vetiver. At two hours it smells pretty much the same - an aromatic vetiver with a little more to it, but projection is down to 1/2 a foot. It lasts about six hours, but captivates all the way through.
Heat and light dramatically reduce its impact, so this is not a workout fragrance. It's more of an intimate scent, but definitely a quality one. I applied it once on each wrist, and if you are not going to be sweaty, that suffices.
Palomino is a quality scent that's worth checking out. I'm torn about buying, though, due to the longevity and projection.
