Slightly Interesting
Think Xerjoff More than Words but a bit more grown up with a bowtie.
It's dry, more mature. Could be unisex, but feels more masculine.
While More Than Words is heavy on the fruits all through, this is fairly more balanced with the Oud in it.

Burst of fruits on the initial spray, then calmly drifts into the oud. You'd really not notice the till you pay attention to it. Now you can smell the oud and the fruit side by side. Great stuff!

I'm not sure how it would do in warm climates, but it would certainly perform beastly in the cooler climes.

Yeah! I like it, I really do. Was a bit upset that I may have purchased MTW blindly. But as I typed this review, and as it changed with the 2 sprays, color me impressed.

You might not need more than 2 or 3 sprays with this. I'm an oversprayer, so I'll definitely try upwards of 7 sprays on this.
Will update this with my experience lol

I'd say it is well made, my first bottle from SHL. I'll look into the house more.

Perplexed In The Best Possible Way
For the last couple years I’ve described Cécile Zarokian as my favorite perfumer. I don’t know if that’s still the case as I have begun paying much more attention to the Stéphane Humbert Lucas offerings I have in my collection. I find myself wowed, at times, by fragrances where I can pick up on the individual notes / facets of a fragrance, where the photorealism is profound. However, I am just as wowed by those fragrances where my nose simply does not pick up on individual notes and the sum of the parts is greater than the parts themselves. I’ve found, at times, both of these 2 perfumers battling in my mind for the top slot, achieve both of those things in their different works I’ve been lucky enough to behold with my nose.

I absolutely adore all of the Stéphane fragrances in my collection and the samples I have. A couple of the samples I have are too feminine leaning for me to want to wear but they’re lovely nonetheless. This particular fragrance has left me perplexed. I’ve not smelled any of the frags people have compared it to, and this is one of those frags where I can’t really pick up on the individual notes, but the sum of the parts blends into something that is simply beautiful.

I wore this a few nights ago for what was my 3rd or 4th wearing. I wore it as an evening fragrance and for the few hours I was awake I could not stop smelling the back of my hand. In fact, once I became sleepy and went to bed, I’m pretty certain I fell asleep with my nose buried into the back of my hand so I could enjoy the scent with every breath until I fell asleep.

While I’ve not smelled any of the compared fragrances, there was something deeply comforting and familiar about this scent. I don’t know if it’s that it reminds me of something from years gone by, or if it was my mind playing tricks on me and making it seem familiar out of enjoying it so much. I have been wracking my brain taking inventory of familiar scents over the years, with hopes that eventually I’ll have a “eureka moment” where what it reminds me of will suddenly come to the forefront of my mind. Alas, that has not occurred. This fragrance is one of those ones where what I do get in the forefront of my mind is texture rather than recalling something this scent reminds me of. What I get is smooth, soft, and comforting like cashmere sweater.

While it doesn’t remind me of an old book, it conjures up the feeling of cracking open a book that is 100+ years old where the paper has an almost burned scent to it. Again, I don’t necessarily get that smell per say, but that feeling… it’s reminiscent of something oldish, earthy, yet smooth and comforting. Like being in an antique shop and finding a hidden gem, something you’ve long searched for but not found until suddenly there it is before your eyes, yet beheld by your nose. I’m oddly hopeful eventually when wearing this, that moment will occur where I understand what it is this reminds me - where in my scent memory this familiarity comes from. I say oddly because I’m so perplexed that I can’t come up with an association and cannot adequately compare this to anything fully. What I do know is my nose loves this and can’t get enough of the magic SHL conjures up. If I had to start over, had to trade away, or sell off my collection with only a few dozen I could save, SHLs would be staying or if forced to trade, I’d trade several away for a single SHL offering and this would be among those that survived or that I’d start over with.

perfect fruity oud
This is one gorgeous creation that demonstrates what an unparalleled master of Modern Oriental perfumery Stephane Humbert Lucas is. Full of warmth, sophistication and masculine radiance, SHL combines a central note of Cambodian Oud in this one with notes of Yuzu, blackcurrant, mint, spices, and balsamic notes. The results are utterly winning and reflect an opulent Middle Eastern opulence transposed with modern elegant masculinity. Enormous sillage and projection, please use the spray button with caution. Not your typical Oud Rose combination which predominates the market, this is a dry, almost shimmering translucent sweet Oud that is not seen much these days in perfumery. Simply magnificent!

2022 Generation Man - ”The Golden Boy”
An amber-woody fragrance , with a fresh and citrusy opening , where you’ll get the oud accord mixed with the Black Currant and Yuzu fruit -> a bit green , a bit rosey , quite zesty and little spicy ! The mint is also there , to give it a refreshing vibe !
In the base and dry-down, it’s getting more woody - you’ll get some CedarWood+Birch Wood = Precious Wood , but also some balsamic nuances - he uses Peru Balsam...
ISO E Super -> is also , a key component , in my opinion , in order to make this smoother and softer , but also to increase its longevity !
Overall it's a 8 / 10 , if you would like to try a fruity/oriental perfume ( although and unfortunately , not my kind of scent anymore ! )

No thanks.
You wanna Hawaiian Punch? Well, this opens as if I spilled a pitchers worth and its filling my nostrils. This does settle down, Beavis, not to worry, falling into place with a black currant and mint and foreshadowing of the "oud." The falling into place eventually turns into a falling apart at the seams and the only thing holding this tragedy is a shoddy stitch of Iso E Super.

The oud base feels much like the pre-made ones I've examined from IFF, Firmenich, Givco, and the like, overdone and overbearing, but mercifully not too loud. It matches the aesthetic of the house, down to their ghastly, garish bottles. This one is taking a one way ticket out of town on the "nope" train.

Boring. Its dominant synthetic oudh accord verges on repugnant. Measured by the lofty price tag SHL attached, this one borders on shameless!

A gently spicy-sweet, yet warm and dusty earthy resinous-woody Fall fragrance, balanced by a slightly green and bright spicy-fruity opening.

It starts fruity, fresh and clean. The oud is smooth, dry, creamy and blends perfectly with the blackcurrant. The scent is never too sweet.

Like other parfums from his house, this is also heavily inspired by Arabic parfums.
Resinous,spicy, woody parfum.
