Beautiful scent journey

I saw Azalai described somewhere as "dried fruits sitting loose in a spice drawer," and there simply could not be a more perfect illustration of this scent. My partner also said it smells like something an elementary school teacher would wear (in the best possible way) - I never would have thought that, but they're completely right. Azalai started at a 7.5/10 for me and I have grown to love it more and more each time I wear it. Stora Skuggan can do no wrong in my eyes!

Homage to the Tuareg

On Stora site, they describe what inspired the fragrance. "The Azalai is a caravan route through the Ténéré region of the Saharan desert where camel trains have transported salt and gold for a thousand years. Along the route stood one single acacia tree, the only living thing in an ocean of sand. This was the most isolated tree in the world, 150 km from any other. This acacia, known simply as The Tree of Ténéré, was the last surviving plant from a time when the desert was less parched than it is today, thanks to roots reaching deep down into a water pocket, an underground pool hidden more than 30 meters below the desert. It’s easy to see how the Tuareg caravan riders, themselves desert survival specialists, held the tree and its amazing fortitude in highest regard. Breaking its branches for firewood or letting the camels eat from the leaves were considered blasphemy."

This scent is a oasis in the desert. It gives the impression of being carbonated like Coca Cola and smells like the soda infused with dried fruit and spice. Its quenching your thirst with decadent fruits in syrup and incense lingers in the background. This is a sweet, woody, and spicy fragrance that feels luxurious.

This scent lasted over 8 hours on my skin, the spiced fruit clings to you pleasantly. It also created a fairly good sized scent bubble. Its a $168 for 30ml, which is pricey but this is one of the few times a niche really goes above and beyond.

the fantasy aroma of Peaches & Cream Barbie's frothy, pale coral gown

Stora Skuggan Azalai conjured forth such a very specific image for me. Does anyone else remember Peaches & Cream Barbie from the 1980s? I don't know if she had a specific scent, but Azalai is the fantasy aroma of that resplendent, frothy, pale coral gown she wore. Saffron-infused honey, champagne-candied apricots, and a golden halo of spun sugar amber clouds filtered to a honeyed, hazy glow through countless layers of delicate fabric, gossamer veils of tulle, and organza. Sheer and luminous, light and dreamy, this is everything little-me dreamed was so special about that doll. Even if I did eventually chop her hair off and marry her off to a small, plastic Lando Calrissian, only for her to disappear under mysterious circumstances on a skiing trip in the French Alps during their honeymoon.
