Sweet Talc
Tried on my hand and smelled of body talc immediatly upon sprayed.

After some minutes it starts to smell really sweet, like cotton candy with body talc.

I really think that it’s a very sweet perfume, but those herbs make this really different and interesting.

Very nice performance. Price is on point too.

The Healer
I would like to stay in my little fairy realm with these scents, as they are so subtly crafted.

Among the fairy folk resides a small fairy, even smaller than the rest of the community, but she has a special gift.
She is even more connected to nature than all the others and can heal the other fairies with its help.

Even during the night, she sets off to that clearing where the most delicate herbs grow. On her way there, she must pass through wild sorrel. (I assume that mandarin and bergamot, together with geranium, give me this impression)
She carefully places her steps to avoid harming any of the plants. She does not wish to harvest them today.

As provisions, she has a few citrus fruits with her. Their scent can be faintly detected from her pouch.

Gently, she is surrounded by the ever-present vanilla scent among the fairies. Now she has arrived at the edge of the clearing, the moon shines through the fresh foliage of the cedars.

It is still too early. She settles down on a cushion of wild geraniums, enjoying the sight of the heather all around and a single rose.

Only with the first light of the rising sun will she harvest the herbs. For sage and rosemary, the moon is favorable today.

Slowly, life awakens in the clearing, one can sense the first light. The aromatic herbs unfold their scent, blending with hers, the vanilla.
She carefully selects, taking only a little to avoid harming nature; and gently places them in her small leather pouch.

The leather, although mentioned above, clearly takes a back seat here for me; the aromatic herbs play the main role, accompanied by the vanilla.
This sorrel association is just a tiny bit edgy for me, hence the 9.5, but overall the scent is wonderfully balanced again, especially the base is beautiful here as well. Softly herbal-vanilla, a vanilla that is very wearable even in midsummer.

Well done, little fairy.

delicately floating vanilla
After recently discovering my love for vanilla fragrances, I am enchanted by these scents carried by a rich, luscious vanilla.
Especially when accompanied by brown spirits (rum or cognac), I am tempted to call for a spoon (see also "Vanille Absolument").
In this type of vanilla, I prefer a robust, unpretentious rum that can stand up to the dominance of the vanilla.
The noble golden-brown cognacs I favor are simply too refined to hold their own against this power. They belong in the appropriate glasses, which wonderfully evoke a cozy feeling in every hand; only then can these noble spirits completely enchant all the senses.

Against this backdrop, I was particularly curious about "La Collecion Vanille" by Sylvaine Delacourte.
Feeling slightly autumnal and therefore in search of a bit more warmth under my nose, I chose "Virgile" as the first of the five vanilla niche fragrances.
And I was surprised!

This vanilla floats! It has completely lost its heavy grounding, and through its liaison with spicy clary sage, this lightness is even more pronounced.
Clary sage, with its hay-like, slightly sweet scent, is really not for everyone.
However, the effect of the distillate from its flowers is astonishing: it makes us light and lets us soar!
Thus, those who wish to be grounded and always float in airy heights should avoid this very special herbal scent. Perhaps that's why they should also avoid this vanilla fragrance.
The proven healing effect of clary sage is well known. It helps against anxiety, depression, mood swings, and so on - even against a lack of sexual drive (as claimed in many books).

This uplifting scent fabric is made fresher and less "esoteric" by a truly refreshing mandarin scent (where has its usual synthetic touch gone?).
Bergamot also grounds a bit; before the geranium with its familiar aroma spreads its healing effect once again.
Fully bloomed roses now meet soft, light leather: a refined scent development is now beginning.
Strong rosemary and the spice of cedar complete this Mediterranean-tinged vanilla fragrance to perfection.
A light breeze sweeps over a pastoral-scented landscape, illuminated and warmed by a merciful, not too bright sun.

Here, a heavy sensual scent note has been cleverly brought close to aromatherapy.
The warming and healing effects of vanilla for restlessness and even anxiety are already well known.
"Virgine" is more of a healing fairy than an opulent femme fatale.

This very special and completely unexpected vanilla scent accompanies protectively for several hours.
It gently leads into the day in the morning and spreads a comforting, pleasantly light cloth over any tensions from the past hours in the evening: a scent that seems to prepare one for beneficial sleep.
Could it be that the Sandman carries a bottle of this as a secret?

With "Virgine," Sylvaine Delacourte has made me swoon and float.
I am now very curious to see what the other four fragrances in this collection will reveal to me.
I am now prepared for surprises and will surely report on this in due course.

Cool Herbs Unisex Vanilla
Virgile is the third fragrance in the Vanilla series by Sylviane Delacourte that I would like to describe here.

It starts off bold, fresh, very citrusy, and initially smells strongly of mandarin peel and bergamot. After a few minutes, a peppery cedar comes through along with vanilla and sage until it becomes a bit warmer and ends in a cooler herbal vanilla. I would rate the sillage as rather subtle and pleasant. The only downside is that the longevity could be better.

Overall, I find the fragrance very refreshing and definitely unisex, suitable for warmer days. It is neither too harsh for women nor too sugary for men.

What surprises and delights me is that you can really smell each individual ingredient in this fragrance. Like a flower slowly opening, a new note emerges over time, and the scent transforms into the vanilla.

Vanilla forms the concluding chord in all the fragrances of this series, even if it doesn't always play the leading role from the start. SD weaves the vanilla with seemingly contrasting notes, creating little masterpieces.

I believe that the Vanilla series by SD is a great work of perfumery art. Not just some haphazardly thrown together waters made to seem expensive, but a truly thoughtful concept, composed with love, dedication, and passion. Discovering something like this is truly a joy.

Herbs in Fragrances … how cool
Insight of this summer.
Why are we doing this here? To train our noses. To gain new fragrance inspirations.
Herbs have previously appeared in my
- room sprays
- shower gels
- liquid soap
- teas (not to forget)
The isotherapy lady from the singing bowl session had herbal fragrance oil in the fragrance lamp (it was so calming that one or two even fell asleep).
Now I received a sample of "Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca | Guerlain," followed by Herbes Troublantes and also "H24 Herbes Vives | Hermès," and my curiosity for herbs was sparked.
I was then able to participate in a sharing of "Virgile | Sylvaine Delacourte," and this fragrance touched me. Not immediately and all at once, but gradually … with each wear more.
The combination of herbs, citrus, and vanilla is simply breathtaking.
@ambercase has already described the fragrance wonderfully. Gradually, the many individual fragrance components come together to form a very harmonious and well-crafted scent blend.
This fragrance creates a sense of well-being.
Despite the herbs, it does not smell like a health food store or isotherapy but rather fresh and well-groomed.
This fragrance is compared to Green Butterfly and "Confetto | Profumum Roma." I have both in my collection, and in my opinion, neither has anything in common with Virgile (except that I like all three, but that's not the point here).

The bottle:
Well, I would say: it could be better but it's not ugly either (it's fine)
What matters more is the content, and that is top-notch!

Do I smell sage here? This scent is a truly tender temptation: jade green, sweet, unique. A vanilla for connoisseurs.

The whole range reminded me of my ex-boss. Everything could be sitting on the windowsill of an 80-year-old lady's pastel-patterned bathroom.

Vanilla refreshing in a different way! Aromatic herbs provide a cool aura, contrasting with the warm vanilla - exciting! Thank goodness I don't get leather.

Really something ethereal, something pure, clear, fragile, something that touches the spirit.. A clearing in the forest, a mountain river, the human iris.

Strangely captivating, aromatic, upliftingly fresh! Unusually exciting, unique, unisex. Like a bouquet not quite of this world.
