Orange blossom in C major
Directly after a comment on a cologne that doesn't smell like one (Wellington) I would like to add a short comment on a very appealing non-cologne that resembles a traditional summer cologne (even if it only lasts about two hours), although it is more full-bodied, richer and more complex.
Orange blossom fragrances often have a tendency to be jasminy-influenced and musky and sluggish. I don't like this direction, which is also embodied by the much-loved APOM. Oranzo, the sympathetic new release by Mrs. Delacourte, is not a representative of such a milky-dull fluffiness in a minor key; of the jasmine indicated in the olfactory accumulation (which is not a pyramid, the scent is very linear!) one should not be deceived in any case.
Oranzo impresses with a wonderful cuvée of perfectly composed, bright and full-bodied orange hesperidic: flowery without any doubt, also nerolig, but above all also tart and green-leaved. Maybe not a highly original scent, but for me a reference for the direction "masculine, freshly tart orange blossom" and a great proof that you can compose a complex, fine citrus scent even with loud orange notes (without lemon, lime, bergamot etc.)
For me, Oranzo (note 9 with a slight tendency to 8.5) would be a candidate for purchase in this summertime if I had not been given the cheerful, ultra-modern, poetically playful and sprinkled with all kinds of poetic and playful notes of hay and salt, the orange blossom scent Azemour les Orangers (note 9 with a tendency to 9.5) as a gift.
In any case clear test recommendation for all friends of herb citric fragrances!
