Covered medicine
Is "Mirra" a medicical smelling scent? Not really. First of all for that affordable price "Mirra" you can buy, the scent smells authentically after the only listet ingredient myrrh. It starts with a short trace of citric, continued immediatly by the clear odour of myrrh. Which some of us are knowing as a rinse medicine with a pungent taste. But "Mirra" is spiced by tonka bean scent and or by vanilla. With this cover "Mirra" ist preventing to be a gourmand scent. But for me this is merely an obstrusive fragrant. So to speak "Mirra" is like those terrible tasting medicines we had to swallow or to gargle with when we were children, and which were enriched by sweetness and vannilla or cherry scents for instance. Those mixture were tasting very vilely , as I am still remembering. "Mirra" is almost smelling and tasting similar to those for me.

Scent Enhancer
Imagine stepping into the apartment of another perfume lover … and it smells wonderful!
“Of course, how else could it smell but wonderful, you idiot?” everyone might be thinking.
Well, it could also smell like sewage, a compost bin, unwashed socks, mom's good cabbage soup, or a burnt pair of Nürnberger sausages. But it doesn’t! It could also be the residue of the existing 100+x fragrances, possibly the greatest common divisor or the least common multiple of them. But does it smell that great?

However, as it is well known that experiments make one wise and questions make one clever, the solution to the riddle was quickly found: a small aluminum can in matte silver with black-purple decor and a gray plastic lid on top. It couldn't be more inconspicuous. One saves on outer packaging, because after all, they want to sell it in Bella Italia for little money in drugstores. In Germany, it is not available in street sales, but you can snag it on the bay for a single-digit price, and for a few more euros, there are plenty of shower gels and bath additives thrown in as a bonus. I am impressed. Also by the fact that the esteemed Mr. Parfumo, due to the laughable price, also likes to use the product for air freshening. Rightly so…

But how does myrrh smell now? Unfortunately, I was not present at the moment of the biblical mentions of this resin, and sadly, chamomile, mint, and sage are so dominant that you cannot unmistakably smell the myrrh from the green stripes of the toothpaste. “Mirra” smells slightly smoky, a bit vanilla-sweet, and barely discernible berry-sour. But definitely extremely delicious and addictive!

We don’t need to discuss the question of a scent progression, because there isn’t one. You spray it on, the scent is there, and it decreases linearly in perception over the next 16 to 20 hours. No highs or lows, no changes. I can sense both feminine and masculine feelings in the scent; it suits everyone. Due to the smoky notes, I would assign it more to older gentlemen, but because of the sour fruitiness, it also appeals to younger folks.

And there must be something else in there, like good glutamate at the Asian takeout. Because I can hardly stop sniffing myself. Or I place, as I am now, the bottle with the open lid next to the laptop, which is enough for a “borderline idiotic grin” on my face … at least that’s the words of my Floating Peach Blossom.

What is Myrrh, anyway?
I found this fragrance at our local Italian supermarket, and since I hadn't read anything bad about the Tesori D'oriente scents, I took a chance and bought it blind. It only cost me €4.95, so I thought I couldn't go wrong.

Based on the bottle, I expected something more like a deodorant, but no: it's a pump "bottle" for perfume! What a surprise. I quickly checked the ingredients: indeed, no propellants are included. I like that. This way, the 100 ml will last much longer.

While out with my better half, we talked about this perfume. I asked if I could spray it on his wrist (I had also bought another Tesori scent, which I had sprayed on myself, namely Muschio Bianco). He kindly agreed. I was so curious about how the perfume smells. Yes, the blind buy...

I was not averse to smelling this fragrance on a man and wondered why one is so conditioned and why this is supposed to be a women's scent. (Later I see that this fragrance is indeed intended for both genders, and I think it suits.) I can clearly smell vanilla and also coconut, though a slightly gentler version. I also detect light woody notes. But what on earth is myrrh? I don't know what myrrh smells like and can hardly imagine that THIS smells like myrrh. Still, I like the scent.

There is indeed a certain similarity to Cashmir, but Mirra seems softer, less intrusive, and more suitable for everyday wear. However, I believe that Cashmir is easier to come by if you don't want to order and are lucky enough to have an Italian supermarket right around the corner.

On the same day, I also bought the scent "Muschio Bianco" from the same manufacturer. Layering both fragrances together complements each other wonderfully, so I will probably use this scent completely layered. I like it even better this way than solo, but my review refers to the solo fragrance.

Rescue Drops to Spray
There are "those" days... The ones where you have to motivate yourself with all available tricks and positive thoughts to actually get up in the morning. And on the way to work, not turn back or take a different direction (couldn’t I just change lines now)...

Because maybe the wrong meeting is on the agenda - too long (more than two hours, torture if you ask me) - and on the wrong topic (inner bloodlust pre-programmed) - or because the wrong person is there (5 minutes already too much! What - THREE hours? Seriously?). Anyway, I’m digressing, sorry!

On these days, I reach for the silver "wonder remedy".

I received it as a gift and found it "boring" on the first test. It took two or three tries before I found a connection to it.

"Mirra" is a scent that is easily perceptible at close range (but unobtrusive) and lasts very well on me. Sprayed in the morning, the "scent" theme is set for the whole day - it accompanies me effortlessly until the evening.

After spraying, there’s a minimal short (so short that it doesn’t bother me) hairspray note, followed by a relatively consistent scent impression until the end: thoughts of oriental bubble bath/fabric softener, a minimal trace of pleasant baby powder, a tiny hint of rose (to me, similar to the Chloe fragrance rose DNA).
Warm, soft, oriental spices, gentle wood, delicate musk. Fluffy, light, and bright. A hint of orange. The listed vanilla doesn’t come through for me at all.

"Mirra" demands nothing - not even attention - it doesn’t distract, it doesn’t annoy.

It only gives: calm, balance, comfort, warmth, stability, and strength.

Due to the relatively unchanged scent progression, it is a reliable, uncomplicated ally in the fight against exhausting, gloomy, and annoying days for me. This little water has the "Ohm effect" for me. It makes everything a tad more bearable and acts like a mix of "Rescue Drops," valerian, and chocolate.

And the smile now and then happens almost by itself - for three hours... ;-)

Unforeseen Variety
I have long overlooked this "tin can scent" sitting in my perfume cabinet. And due to a request for a decant, I brought it back out. To test whether it is still intact, I sprayed it on. Instead of a "7," which I had given it before, I am now at a solid "9." Either the fragrance has matured beautifully, or my perception has changed... Fairly speaking, I would say "Both"! Because it offers an unforeseen variety of "vibrant" ingredients with equally unforeseen depths.
The "treasure" opens with bright, warm floral and citrus notes that bring summer back to mind. This remains the case for a while-although the "autumnal" tones of balsams are already announcing themselves. This beautiful and very enveloping mélange is formed from the quartet of myrrh, benzoin, amber, and opoponax, with myrrh and amber being the main players. The other two are by no means "extras"; they have a larger supporting role. It then becomes spicy and woody in the long-lasting "final phase." Cedar and sandalwood (smells VERY authentically real) do not overshadow their accompanying notes; they provide THE sound concert for the "woody" elements, framing them along with the now dominant myrrh. A small splash of vanilla subtly bathes everything in a gentle light. Everything is only moderately sweet, which is a significant advantage over some similar fragrance concepts. A fantastic scent for the cooler season, which I had previously underestimated quite a bit.

You're not as cool as you first seem
When the lightly spicy wind
Moves the bloom in your light brown hair
You smile sweetly and relaxed

I've smelled worse for a lot more money. Creamy sweet, delicately floral, and not really natural, which doesn't bother me at all.

If Casmir is too heavy for you - here is the wonderfully fine, slightly fruity veil, delicately floral. Oh yes, the bottle is unbreakable! Top!

Orange, myrrh, amber, sandalwood, musk, and vanilla.
Creamy, sweet, and oriental.
Reminds me a bit of Casmir.

If the new version of Cašmir smells like this, it's clear to me that it doesn't have many fans. It's a pretty good scent, but it can't compare to the vintage.

Warm & has a hint of baby bubble bath. Smells like home, when everything was still good.
An emotional bullseye. Probably good for the carefree too.

Soft-oriental, moderately sweet. The opening is surprisingly fresh with orange! Balanced, multi-faceted, and extremely solid and valuable for the price.

There is a similarity to Casmir, but: M. is more one-dimensional. Maybe a bit synthetic too. Still a likable scent!
