A brief glimpse into dark mossy forest
I approached this fragrance with a lot of skepticism. EIn patchouli fragrance, which is also called Morass, so Morast, issued by a brand that is known for its creative patchouli experiments (winking greetings to Emsland, at this point).
In the bottle, it looks like herbal schnapps, and smells like it inside. Here in the North German lowlands there is the "Moorbrand", a herbal schnapps with peaty-spicy flavor. That was my first association with the look and smell of "Morass".
When applied to the skin, it unfortunately leaves a yellowish stain that remains. Directly on the skin light-skinned people should therefore not wear it. Also on light-colored clothing goes of course not at all.
After the herbal schnapps start, it becomes woodier (tart-spicy-woody) within minutes, as the alcohol dissipates. An interesting progression with potential.... Moss, wood and patchouli are clearly recognizable.
After 15 minutes, it reminds me of dark, slightly sweet, mossy wood. I like that! It emphasizes the woody side of patchouli.... The silage is still quite good here.
After about 2 hours, the silage has diminished considerably. EIn interesting and very natural sweetish-woody scent has developed.
You can wear it in the spare time probably times. It is not an everyday fragrance. For this he is too special and too weak. Suitable for all ages. Basically unisex, but by its spicy woodiness and lack of floral or fruity-sweet aspects rather masculine. He is basically all year wearable, but is by the lack of fresh notes more at home in the winter months.
I have been pleasantly surprised. Expected I had an intensely synthetic-sweet musty smell. But he is of course woody-mossy. He is best after 15 minutes and then until the first hour (so at least on me). After that, it weakens a lot, and the woody-mossy gives way to the classic patchouli vibe.
It could be less sweet and more woody for my taste....
The performance could be better. For a patchouli scent, it's pretty weak. He remains indeed at least 8 hours present, but after 2 hours only skinny (with me).
A thick minus is but the Abfärben. So he is only on dark clothes or dark skin wearable. As a light-skinned person, you absolutely have to make sure to wear a dark garment in the appropriate places to be able to apply the fragrance on it. This is somewhat impractical !
But the bottom line is that I still like it.
As a small quantity, a nice addition to the natural scents in my fragrance cabinet.
