Clean, Soapy Floral
Just before the Pandemic, my sister was fortunate to have the opportunity to go and live abroad; I'd given her a bunch of perfume samples, and she'd written to me some time later relaying that "I want to sex myself when I wear this", referring to The Cora. I had laughed my head off and promised that I would get it for her one day.

Over five years later, I happened to chance upon a great deal for a new 100ml bottle, and thought I'd surprise my sister for her upcoming annual visit to the U.K. I couldn't help but try a cheeky spray of the perfume when I received it through the post - just to make sure it was legit. The Cora opens, to my nose, rather heavy on the rose; a pink and pretty, sweet and dewy sort of rose. There is a pleasant aldehydic note that instantly reminds me of ELDO's clean and soapy Exit the King. After this initial rosy burst the fragrance grows sweeter into a generic and familiar fruity-floral scent, and I am unable to discern any particular floral note at this stage, least of all delicate wisteria and magnolia, both of which I appreciate in nature. But sure enough, once this settles, there is an almost powdery and hazy, peach-like warmth embellished with spicy carnation. When you close your eyes and detach yourself from the cloying sweetness, you are able to catch the evocative scent of a summer garden at dusk: heady nectar hanging in the air, warm orchard fruits swelling with thick, sugary juices, and a gentle zephyr carrying the scent of freshly washed fabrics that have dried in the sun.

The sweetness finally gives way to a clean musk dry down, again, familiar like Narciso Rodriguez, Fleur de Peau, and many others, lasting around 10 hours quietly on my skin. It was the floral, clean, soapy aspect that my sister was so fond of experiencing in her warm and tropical climate. Personally, I am unable to fathom such an extortionate RRP for this underwhelming scent, and would have kicked myself had I payed full price. But both my bank balance and my sister will be beyond thrilled.

He Captivated Me Immediately
At that time, we weren't really into the topic of perfume yet. That means, you had one or two scents, and when one was empty, you looked for a new one - usually the old one?
It was a Saturday at KADEWE when we were riding the escalator down, and between two flights of stairs, a nice lady approached me, asking if she could give me a test strip. As I passed by, I took it, more out of pity because no one else was taking it than out of interest. On the escalator, I smelled the little piece of paper and was immediately in love! I held it out to my husband, who also smelled it more to keep the peace than out of interest. But he too was instantly captivated and asked what this amazing scent was.
We immediately took the escalator back up and went to the nice lady at her stand. She also showed us some other fragrances, most of which smelled good, but none as good as The Cora.
However, a bit put off by the price, we went home first. But the scent didn't leave our minds. I ordered a sample online, and it was treasured like the apple of our eye.
Then at Christmas, my husband finally found his bottle under the Christmas tree.
From then on, we delved into niche fragrances and realized that higher prices can sometimes be quite justified.
We both wear the fragrance; it smells clean and fruity but also mysterious and somehow special. It is not overpowering, yet people approach you. I don't find it synthetic at all; there are others that definitely fit that description.
Since then, I have tested and purchased hundreds of perfumes, but nothing has impressed me as much as this scent.
For us, it is very long-lasting, perceptible for more than 10 hours. Still clearly noticeable on clothing and hair the next morning.
I sprayed it on my jacket, and since then, my wardrobe smells great too.
Many write here that the scent is boring or fades quickly; tastes are thankfully different.
If you meet me at a wonderful event where one wears their favorite drop, you can be sure that I will be wearing The Cora!

The Ice Princess with the Golden Diadem
In a distant land of ice lived a beautiful princess. Her diadem made of pure gold and adorned with sparkling gemstones had magical powers: It made red roses bloom, even in thick snow and dense ice, that bloomed eternally and could fulfill dreamy wishes with their sweet scent. All the people in the land of ice loved the princess and her magical roses.

One day, a rider reached the land of ice: the prince of fire. He wanted to melt the land to make it cultivable. For this, he wanted to trade for the ice princess's diadem to gift it to his fire princess. But the king of the land of ice sent cold warriors to fend off the prince. No one was allowed to invade his realm and propose such a foolish deal! Hidden beneath the ice were treasures of unimaginable value that needed to be preserved in the ice. The princess's diadem was just a small taste of the riches of the land of ice. The king gifted it to his daughter for her twentieth birthday. On that day, the magical powers of every inhabitant of the land of ice awaken. A magical object can awaken the powers or be the source of the powers. If all magical objects were freed from the ice, they would throw the world into imbalance and cause total chaos. When the Ice King was crowned, he was tasked with securing all the treasures in the ice. Instead of a pulsating heart, he received a gemstone: large, pure, beautiful, hard, cold. It granted the king powerful abilities and an unbreakable resolve.

But the ice princess learned of the intruder and was very curious: she had never seen a fire person before. Her heart was pure and sweet, gentle and warm, and she was convinced that the prince meant no harm. She would convince him to leave the land without violence.
So she set out to find the prince. In a snowy clearing, she encountered him. He was tall and radiated a lot of warmth - the snow beneath his feet had melted. "Fire Prince! How did you find your way here?" "I am searching for the ice princess; I want to propose a deal." "I am the ice princess... What do you wish to negotiate?" "I can make this land cultivable; here plants and animals can thrive, which you can use and trade with. For that, I want the golden diadem as a wedding gift for my fire princess." "Well... I cannot give you the golden diadem." "Why not?" ...

The ice princess took a step closer, removed her golden diadem, and closed her eyes. The prince watched her intently. Suddenly, golden sparks surrounded the princess, enveloping her in a beautiful cocoon of glittering threads. Slowly, some of the glittering threads condensed, sank to the ground, and formed a stem with thorns and leaves. The head of a perfect red rose appeared on the stem and gently and slowly opened its delicate petals. Golden shimmering light enveloped the rose in the pure white snow. The prince was frozen, his mouth agape as he beheld the rose in its perfect beauty. The scent of the rose was overwhelming and instantly enchanted the prince. He looked up, directly into the eyes of the princess, which shone with gentleness.

The prince felt that this magical power was more potent than all the trading profits and golden gifts for his bride. The ice princess and the golden diadem were inseparably connected. He nodded kindly, turned around, and disappeared among the frozen trees...
When the king learned of this, he was immensely proud of his princess. Her kindness touched him, and the stone in his chest transformed back into a warm, beating heart full of love.
The ice princess smiled. This time, the scent of the magical rose had fulfilled her own wish.

Frosty-fresh, clean, floral. A diamond!
The Marketing
The fragrance from the English house Thameen is named after a rare yellow diamond called "Cora Sun Drop" and is meant to embody aspects of both yellow and white flowers, according to the fragrance creator.
The Fragrance.
In my opinion, "The Cora" is not yellow, but radiant white like freshly washed sheets that have been hung out to dry on a frosty morning. Yes, the scent has this fresh-frosty quality. It is very fresh, crisp-clean, and strongly reminds me of the scent of expensive fabric softener for laundry-almost 1:1 in my perception. There must be a lot of white musk at play here.

Additionally, the fragrance is quite floral with minimal nectar sweetness, and the flowers are primarily white flowers in my perception.

The clove gives the fragrance a pleasant twist. I do not smell patchouli.

The Fragrance Development
There is none. I perceive the scent as a whole and can only guess the individual notes, but cannot really pick them out well.

Longevity and Sillage
The performance is not outstanding, but certainly good.

Conclusion:
I find the fragrance, despite the fabric softener associations, very well done and easy to wear. It has something special, and the fresh-clean-frosty aura around the flowers is enchanting. A test sampling.

Delicately Sweet Floralness
Yes, I know it doesn't match the fragrance notes at all, but for me, the perfume opens with apricot and milk. Hints of fresh laundry fill the air before it becomes rosy. However, calling it just rosy doesn't do it justice. It is much more like a whole bouquet of flowers. A fresh, spring-like scent with good longevity. The Cora leaves a creamy, delicate, slightly fresh, and slightly sweet impression. It smells elegant and well-groomed. Over time, it gains even more sweetness, enveloped in a delicate, spicy warmth.

Opens watery/dewy rose before drying floral tones, mild booze & white musks. Fem-lean spring-summer scent, some overlap w/ Overture Woman.

Light rose scent and white flowers - nothing spectacular.

After a rather shallow rosy opening, there's sweet spicy floral stuff with a creamy tendency. Not bad, but not for me.

A green and watery rose, then a diffuse powdery floral, strong sweet base with a lot of aroma chemistry: still quite nice and pleasant.

Very similar to Sublime Balkiss, but a bit smokier & thus suitable for men as well. Elegant, extraordinary. Wisteria is my secret!

For me, the most elegant and mysterious scent in the collection so far. You can tell it's expensive. Longevity 10 hours plus.
Pure love.
