Sweet and salty caramel popcorn.
Sampling The House of Oud What About Pop, a scent inspired by popcorn, with both its salty and sweet/caramel-like aspects, and I think the scent largely captures its inspiration pretty well. It’s both sweet and salty, a satisfying gourmand that’s not too heavy, while still smelling a bit like a perfume. I sense that the buttery aspect of popcorn seems to be missing altogether, however, but there are interesting woody, resinous qualities that more or less make it a gourmand-adjacent combo featuring salty/sweet caramel corn.
Overall, I like it, though, and I could easily see this fitting the bill for many gourmand fans looking for a popcorn-rich scent.
Its retail pricing is $240 for the standard 75ml size, and it’s sold at boutiques like Luckyscent, from which I acquired dabber sample, and Krystal Fragrance, though it’s also available at FragranceX for $150.
