Surprisingly good!!
On a trip to my local niche perfumery a couple of days ago (I say local, but it's an hour away by car lol) I happened to pass the Thomas Sabo jewelry store and was struck by a few enticing pieces in their window. I'm such a magpie ... anything shiny and sparkly elicits 'oohs' and 'aahs' of predatory desire from my lips ... and then I saw the fragrances!!

Testers of Charm Rose and Charm Kiss were enticingly displayed, surrounded by bracelets and lots of delicate little charms that one could attach to them, all prettily twinkling in the halogen lights! I was intrigued to say the least ... and then immediately disappointed when Charm Rose turned out to be a synthetic mess of phenyl ethyl alcohol and straight up geraniol. I didn't bother with the 'Kiss' version and turned my attention back to the shiny stuff, eventually purchasing a braided leather bracelet with a chunky, worked silver clasp. Upon paying for my purchase, the sales assistant made reference to their two new fragrances (not available in-store yet) and added samples of Rebel at Heart and Glam 'n Soul to my bag.
I added them to the pile on my desk, and at a loose end this evening thought "what the hell ..." and let rip! Glam 'n Soul can be done without (a boring celeb like thing) but OH!! ... what a surprise Rebel at Heart has turned out to be!
Spicy and Woody in a very contained way, the initial half an hour of this one smells like a top end niche. I'm generally not a fan of Cumin in fragrances because of the 'unwashed armpit' vibe it tends to present my nose with. Strangely enough this note is well presented here, probably kept in check by a delicious Cedar and the sweetness of Bay Oil (which is mentioned on the sample package).
A very nice base quite heavy on the Patchouli and Tonka leaves one feeling that Rebel at Heart is one of those happy accidents ... something from a catalogue of fragrances that's turned out to be really good! The silage and longevity (while adequate) are certainly not stellar, but then neither are those of some really outrageously priced fragrances I have tried lately!

This fragrance reads like an Amouage or a Lutens!! Hideous bottle aside I would recommend seeking this out and giving it a try. I think I'll get some when it's available here :) ...

Rebellion for One of the World's Best Men's Fragrances
... this is already hinted at by the extremely stylish bottle in the shape of a globe made of the finest plastic.

Moreover, it brilliantly symbolizes that the precious raw materials of Rebel at Heart have been gathered from various countries around the globe. Here, only the best was good enough, and no distance was too far. One might think that Mark Buxton and Thomas Sabo personally harvested and distilled every bay leaf or cinnamon stick or whatever, in the sweat of their brows, to process it in this wondrous way. According to legend, it was seven left-handed virgins who, under the full moon, mixed the ingredients of Rebel at Heart and bottled it with the Holy Grail into the already mentioned tasteful bottles.

As soon as I press the sprayer, a wonderful world reveals itself to me (yes, the super bottle symbolizes this as well) full of delightful scents and pleasures.
You immediately forget the everyday life and all the suffering on this planet (... yes, super bottle!!!), as you embark on an inner encounter of a special kind with angels, fairies, and unicorns that lovingly surround you. Furthermore, Rebel at Heart not only smells extremely good, as it definitely avoids coming off as a synthetic jumble, but it also sounds good. Yes, you can almost hear the tinkling and clinking of small metal and copper pieces, as well as bundles of rustling, colorfully printed paper!

Thomas Sabo, inventor and three-time holder of the Prince Albert Ring, was able to showcase one of his absolute masterpieces here, thanks to his decades of experience and expertise as a perfumer.

For this wonderful jewel of perfume art, I would even give 110%, and I find it a sheer audacity from Parfumo that this is not possible here. I rebel and, as a protest signal, only award 10% instead of the deserved 110% and hope that all Parfumos interpret this correctly!

I am glad that I was able to experience such a fragrance revelation in my old age and I immediately note the joyful date in my calendar ...

Hands off!!!
Do I have to give my opinion on everything and everyone? Principally not, but a word of warning is allowed.

It is indeed surprising how high prices can be charged for relatively cheap and generic mass-produced items in the jewelry sector, sold in such large quantities. The material and production costs per charm are under one euro. The situation is not much better with the other products from the various lines. But we already know this from Ed Hardy, yet who still wears that label in public today? Whether Thomas Sabo has put thought into perfumes to round out his portfolio in this area or if his name has simply been slapped onto existing scents from the drawer, I cannot say. I only know that the name and the label are trendy, the products sell like hotcakes, and that is undeserved.

The first tester bottle I came into contact with had already disintegrated into its components. In another branch of a large chain, at least the spray button was still intact, but here too, the plastic parts of the stylized black globe rattled against each other. If one were to sell a children's toy made of similarly cheap plastic with similar tolerance levels, no one would spend even a euro on Rudi's clearance rack for it. Such things cannot be reconciled with the concept of luxury or with the prices of Thomas Sabo.

What should I say about the aromatic scent itself? At first, it comes across as fresh, then releases numerous herbal-spicy aromas, and finishes with a smoky-sweet note. Not bad in itself, if it weren't for an unpleasant synthetic smell hovering over everything and if I didn't have a soapy taste in my mouth like from cheap no-name chewing gums.

The scent quickly becomes very unpleasant for me, and I am glad that the initially quite light sillage diminishes rather quickly. I would estimate the longevity at under three hours, with the individual nuances becoming very diffuse towards the end. No pleasure.

As so often, the name sells here, and in the end, that is what you are paying for. For an image and not for quality, neither in the nose nor in the hand.

A Rebel? More like a Milk Baby!
And what a one it is! Infused with a lot of synthetic notes and a breath that is only filled with insignificance and a strange woody note. Sometimes I really wonder what people were thinking when they created this? Thomas Sabo has more or less dabbled in fragrances. None of them are particularly good and none knock me off my feet. The price for the perfumes is not particularly high, but by no means appropriate. Because what is offered is a uniform mush. A scent of the milk baby. A scent of synthetics. Simply repulsive and unsexy. Not even a hint of elegance can be perceived here. Not even good enough to take out the trash.

I find the opening to be very piercing, and right away you can hear that all-too-familiar synthetic note that is abundant in such perfumes. You surely know what I mean. Individual components are really very hard to detect here. Nothing dominates. Everything is on the same level and feels sticky, underscored by a woody note that somehow gives me the creeps. It seems like a mushroom has grown out of it. The spiciness feels very flat, not present at all or even masculine. A broth smells better.

Thank God the scent doesn’t last long and quickly becomes invisible. The bottle is not only an eyesore but also uncomfortable to hold. Not particularly handy and made of total cheap plastic.

That was a flop, dear Thomas Sabo.
Better stick to your jewelry and don’t scare people away!

You little show-off
I almost fell for you, putting on a black (leather) jacket that turns out to be cheap plastic when touched, standing in front of me and casually juggling overripe oranges.
What thoughts I had, James Dean or at least Marlon! Blasphemy!
Just Horst, oh what am I saying, not even Peter!
And faster than I can say "one," you lose the fruit and it bursts overripe in the dust. Loser, besides, you have no stamina!
But you are sticky, damn sticky, thank heaven you exhale your earthly life after an hour.
But I know you, I've encountered you somewhere before, in the late 70s of the last century. I couldn't stand you back then either.

The bottle looks like the Death Star. The scent is just as deadly. We can only wait for rebels to shoot this thing down.

I have to defend it: it's not as bad as it's being portrayed here. Nothing new, but definitely not "disgusting."

So generic, uninspired, artificial & cheap like the costume jewelry of the same name.
How far can you actually throw this ugly bottle?

The scent strongly reminds me of my grandparents' old wooden furniture. Nostalgia is present, but as a wearable fragrance, I'm not sure....
