The gateway to another world
So there it is, my first comment on this wonderful platform. I would like to dedicate it to the fragrance that made me dive into this costly but beautiful hobby again.

Before Costa Azzurra Acqua, I already owned a few fragrances, but all of them belong to the Mass Pleaser category, and my teenage me bought them blindly after recommendations in the last two years (notable Versace Eros, Dolce & Gabbana The One EdT and two, three not worth mentioning). In the quarantine I was occupied with my tender 18 years, but again more intensively with the world of fragrances, and so I came across this platform. But now enough of the background gibberish, and get to the fragrance.

I first fell in love with the deep blue, timeless bottle, which looks incredibly elegant even without knowing the fragrance it contains. Well then, aesthetics took my artist's heart by storm, so the next step was research, fragrances didn't quite look like my very limited prey scheme at the time, but the pine tree made the fragrance interesting again. It came as it had to come, and an impulsive blind purchase, and three to four working days later I held my new love in my hands. I could hardly wait, two sprayers on the back of my hands and....es catapulted me to the Aegean. All of a sudden I was back in Greece, the sound of the deep blue waves in the background, a slightly salty sea breeze blowing around you. Then come the woods: I smelled tall cypresses, driftwood that had found its way to the beach, from somewhere a touch of lemon blows in my direction. The development is getting better and better, at least for my nose, because the Hellenic fragrance pleasure is joined by my highly esteemed pine. Costa Azzurra Acqua ends wooden, but extremely pleasant
Durability is quite acceptable with me with approx. 6-7 hours, whereby the smell is perceptible after approx. 3 hours only very closely.

Conclusion: a refreshingly different Aquat, which captivates above all by its woods. Durability and sillage are not outstanding, but they are alright. The bottle is a dream, j'adore.

In short: my first great love of fragrance, thank you Costa Azzurra Acqua for opening the door to a fascinating world for me

The modern Retro-Aquat sailed with the driftwood across the sea
The blue flacons from Tom Ford didn't have it easy at the beginning. Not only did Neroli Portofino appear as a fragrance that was completely overpriced for what was on offer, he was also unable to convince us of the quality of his fragrance. In 2014 two new fragrances appeared from the range, which could not be more different. With Mandarino di Amalfi came a fragrance that was very citric, appealing to the masses and of convincing quality. Costa Azzurra has split opinions a bit, some found him very interesting and different, others too retro, too masculine or just not convincing.

Later, the eau de toilette versions of each came onto the market with the name Acqua. As slightly thinner versions, these came at a significantly better price in the perfumeries.
I first tested the Mandarino di Amalfi from the Acqua versions. First of all, I find this one much better.
For me, Costa Azzurra Acqua is a retroaquat with a modern touch. Because if one looks at aquatics nowadays, then these are mostly quite shower gel like around also the younger generation to address. This one has rather the charm to omit these notes. It starts fresh with some seasoning. Wood gradually joins them and a little green in the background. The wood seems to have been driven across the oceans once. Because either the green one in the background is seaweed, which brings some seaweed scent, an herb like basil. I can't hear the indicated jaw.
The silage is not excessive, the shelf life is perfect for an aquatic
As a Tom Ford fan, I have already tested some private blends and had great as well as less convincing scents in my nose, so I can recommend them without any ulterior motives. Especially for people who are fed up with the shower gel aquatics and would like to have a spicy-woody one from this direction. The P/L ratio is very good considering the scent quality.
Because here Tom Ford has once again succeeded in reinterpreting a retro fragrance that convinces me all along the line. Just because it doesn't have that certain soapiness of the Mandarino di Amalfi Acqua, it is pleasant for me to wear.

Summer Vacation Substitute in Lockdown
I was looking for a fragrance to accompany me on vacation with my partner to southern Italy. I quickly found it in the summer collection of my favorite brand Tom Ford. For me, it could only be Costa Azzurra Acqua, because all other Acquas were either too feminine or too weak on the chest. The big brother Costa Azzurra has triggered in me too much the association of a walnut, as that I would want to wear him at 30 degrees.

With Costa Azzurra Acqua, I found a scent that transported me to the coast of southern Italy, even though we couldn't make our trip due to viruses. The scent gives a feeling of sea breeze and sun, under cypress trees with filleted citrus fruits. The fragrance has enough depth to be worn in everyday life. Only the longevity leaves something to be desired in terms of punch for a "daily beater". But the name "Acqua" already suggests a certain wateriness.

Overall, a successful summer fragrance. After a 5ml sample I have struck at a 50ml bottle. Niche? Rather no. Good? Yes!

So close to summer!
Since I have received a very favorable offer due to a sale, I decided despite the cold season for a buy...
The bottle looks beautiful with its matte blue and is an absolute highlight of summer elegance. The fragrance starts salty fresh and develops later rather woody. The pine takes over here clearly the dominance. Costa Azzurra Acqua reminds me of a walk by the sea on the island of Corfu!

P.S: To increase the sillage and durability, I have him layered with Molecule 02, which works great in my opinion!

Another Gem from Tom Ford
I just received this today.
Costa Azzurra is already one of my favorite Tom Fords (it almost makes me salivate, that’s how good it is) and now I can add this flanker to the top.
To my nose it’s different enough from the original to justify having both in my collection.
It smells smokier and greener than CA.
Less sweet and more like dark Cypress/piney resin.
To me there’s very little if any “acqua” in this.
It’s a mature scent for 40+, very elegant and refined (but not “dressuppy”) and leans masculine. It feels assertive and I’m very happy to welcome it to my collection. BIG LOVE!

Aquatic ozone with some pine notes lingering in the background. Not a masterpiece, but great longevity.
