If not now, then when

A creamy, youthful cardamom scent on a light citric, relaxed background... Sounds perfectly like Tommy Hilfiger, both sides of the current olfactory zeitgeist, exactly the fragrance I would have recommended to TH at the moment. So is the new "Tommy Now" a bull's eye and a coming legend like its predecessor "Tommy"? No, I would not (yet) go that far. But in any case, it's a fucking chilly, fine, almost minimalistic, very clear fragrance for young men, which even has what it takes to steer the brand towards the future...

In my youth I was (unfortunately?) never really a "Tommy carrier" like some of my buddies, but the importance and attraction and purity for pubescent boys was then, long before I started my hobby, clearly visible, always stuck. And the new "Tommy Now" has almost everything to fill his big footsteps, to take up his legacy. That alone should make everyone here sit up and take notice and at least have them tested. Even if, like me, you're actually long past the age of retirement. To find it beautiful and completely fitting to brand, image and sense, but of course you can still find it. From a tingling tangerine to a heart full of soft cardamom, which gets even more softness and wellness ambitions through ginger splashes. The whole thing is then rounded off by mossy green sunrays of musk and delicately ambry woods. Not beautiful - but close! If you like fragrances like the new "CK Everyone", "Illusione" or "Hugo Reversed", you should definitely take a closer look at this reclined and returned teenager and not immediately dismiss it as a high-shoulder fragrance.

Flacon: simple, handy, pretty
Sillage: rarely strong, mostly tender
Durability: after 4-6 hours you should press it again. Just a school day...

Conclusion: Welcome to a new Hilfiger era! "Now" is a cardamom senior with a fresh spirit and relaxed nature, who could do much more than just determine the moment of the brand

Cardamom fans, watch out!

The citric Tommy classic of the 90s may be well known, but this new inconspicuous blue bottle has it in it, because its scents are currently dividing the nation :) However, in the NOW cosmos it currently only consists of 5 ratings, 4 statements and 2 owners, whose intersection is possibly only 1 user. And that's the problem. Because how are we supposed to come to such a reliable statement? Tz, tz, tz ...

That's why I'm going to try a first commi, and make myself the measure of all things [LOL] regarding the description of the scent, because I have an ace up my sleeve that increases the hit rate by 100% ;-)

When I first tested Tommy Now, I immediately liked him. It has a very refreshingly spicy note that I have never smelt before in this constellation. So my first statement was "super fresh and invigorating dominant cardamom". But Citrusman, on the other hand, says in his, the fragrance "resembles Mercedes Benz Cologne". I know him, too, but as a fruity, soft citric he is considered more of a twin of Dior Homme Cologne.

Oha - that would be two quite contrary perceptions, plus the Axe 2012 deodorant he mentioned, which I don't know though:) And while Gold again finds Tommy Now to be "fresh and spicy with a youthful touch", Stulle says "somehow reminiscent of Blue Cedrat, but still needs a second test".

And that's my cue. Because also I jumped every now and then in the lunch break with the miller purely for a second, third and fourth test. After that I lost my interest a little, but because I liked it more than I disliked it, I ordered it after a few months simply times with.

But then the hammer:

When I sprayed the scent on again for the first time, I suddenly stood so vertically, was instantly catapulted into the present and was so awake that every mindfulness exercise seemed like sucking a valerian drop!

What happened?

Quite simply ... we were heard :) No more to-ing and fro-ing, Tommy obviously turned the mix after a sluggish launch! Although I don't like the fragrance so much anymore, it has a clear statement - even if it's already been used elsewhere:

"If he's too strong, you're too weak."

And that probably applies to me, because I knew immediately what the changed NOW reminds me of: Wick VapoRub! I was so amazed that I would have loved to run out and get this bronchial ointment for comparison purposes.

And this is his new statement:

Tommy Now calls from the outset "deep inhale", namely with about 70% essential cardamom and the rest of citric. The bergamot and mandarin say goodbye after about a quarter of an hour. What remains is the medical-looking cardamom, flanked by some ginger, but too much of a good thing for me. Unfortunately, I can hardly sniff out the rose geranium mentioned in my heart, although it knows how to cushion the brisk spice a little. So the scent remains - with proper Sillage - for about 3 hours, until it becomes a little softer when it reaches the base and its fire retreats to about half. But he doesn't seem to be bedded on much Moss, so he lasts 6-7 hours.

Well, Tommy Now wasn't mine anymore, because the increase in durability and sillage was obviously due to a higher concentration of the main actors Kardamom! (+ginger), which makes the fragrance too strong for me.

Conclusion: if you're sick and don't like the clumsy Wick VapoRub, go for Tommy Now. And who would like to lay out his other scents a little cardamom in addition as well. It is also suitable for meditators who finally want to enter Nirvana and want to free the mind from the trunk to the fontanelle. Everyone else should be into medically mined seasonings to love him ... unless I caught a Monday batch where the cardamom mixer nodded off while filling :-)

And the ace in the hole?

... is our dear NasiGoreng, who took the scent from me and unanimously confirmed "Tommy Now reminds me very much of Wick VapoRub at the beginning." So we still managed to describe Tommy Now, who also fits to yesterday's statement of Gold. Although he is not a candidate for a blind purchase, he is not a bad perfume either. That's why it's called
