Quite Peppery

Wow.
This Viennese has pepper in its blood!
The opening really lifts the nose up quite a bit.
Once you get past the initial shock, the initially omnipresent pepper makes some room for the Viennese forest, which gradually pushes itself to the forefront, presenting itself in a cosmopolitan, light-filled manner. The herbal notes, consistently spiced with pepper, fade away after a solid 5-6 hours close to the skin.

I find it hard to establish a connection between the name and the scent - as a quasi-foreigner from a non-Alpine region, the term "Panasch" alone drove me to the all-knowing internet:
[paˈnaʃ]
[1] often used military helmet ornament
[2] Switzerland: beer mixed drink made from beer and lemonade
The first might make twisted sense, as the pepper in the Viennese forest indeed makes for a rather militant debut.

With this very pepper fanfare, Panasch stands quite on its own as a fragrance - at least in my (admittedly still quite short) perfume career, I have yet to smell anything even remotely comparable.

I don't really like either the beer mix or the helmet decoration. But I like the comment, and the scent sounds intriguing.
