A very beautiful fruity citrus - unusual and unique.

Sometimes we run into a perfume that is so unique that we are unable to put it in any niche. This is one of those perfumes. Dolce Amalfi resembles no other perfume I own or have tested, even remotely.

The opening is a beautiful blast of quince, cardamom, apple and saffron. In about an hour, the heart notes emerge and join the quince and the cardamom, which continues throughout the middle stage. The heart notes - clove and resins - do not really separate clearly from the opening notes, and together they persist for 6-8 hours before fading out eventually. The mild sweet and woody base notes that appear later are mostly vanilla, tonka and cedar on my skin. Dolce Amalfi is one of the most unique and beautiful perfumes in my collection.

The performance of this perfume is excellent. It lasts on my skin for 6-8 hours, and the base notes and dry down are detectable even after twelve hours. The sillage is excellent, perceptible at a a distance of few feet.

Along with Italica, Dolce Amalfi is one of the unusual gourmands from Xerjoff. The perfumer manages to keep it from turning into syrupy gourmand by keep the notes light and boosting the spiciness. Dolce Amalfi is more wearable than Italica. I recommend Dolce Amalfi to everyone, at least a 30 ml bottle if you can get it for less than $80.
