Not as nice as the Kemi
Just for reference, I’m wearing the Kemi Layla on one arm and this on the other. They are both from scent split so I’m not sure how old the bottles are, but one could obviously assume the xerjoff is quite a bit “fresher”

They are indeed a little different, the xerjoff is stronger/louder and it’s slightly soapy (the cloves here I think?) with a more pronounced patchouli. The kemi has a a stronger Ylang and is softer with more of an “atmospheric” scent (re: I go a little nose-blind nose to skin but can smell it in my scent bubble)

That said, the scent bubble of the two is pretty similar. I think here the kemi can be found cheaper per ml, but the xerjoff is around cheaper per (smaller) bottle.

I’m going to pass on both, but the Kemi is at least a solid like (the spiced Ylang is sweet and pleasant but it’s overall kinda redundant with things I already have) whereas I would put the xerjoff as just an “it’s ok” — mainly due to the slight soapy-soap

A fragrant fairy tale from the Orient...
Layla from the Xerjoff K Collection is a fragrance that transports the senses into a world of oriental opulence.

The opening begins with an intense spice of nutmeg and clove, reminiscent of an exotic bazaar. This blend evokes the feeling of strolling through the narrow streets of an oriental market while the first rays of sunlight carry the scent of fragrant spices.
The heart note reveals a warm cedar forest, accompanied by majestic trees, ylang-ylang and patchouli playing a familiar melody.
In the drydown, a warming bonfire of amber, sweet vanilla and soft musk unfolds, lingering on the skin like the touch of a caress.

Layla is a fragrant fairy tale of love, longing and adventure told on the skin, creating unforgettable memories. H/S are fine - but could be a bit more! Personally, I think Layla is the best fragrance from the K Collection.

Very good new edition
Very nice reissue of the old Layla. One of the only ones from the K-Collection that doesn't have oud, but still one of the best in my opinion. You can really smell the many spices in the top note, which I particularly like. The sillage as well as the longevity is perfect on my skin, as with every Xerjoff (about 10-12 hours with one spray).
However, I would not recommend Layla as a blind buy, as it is not for everyone, due to the strong spices

A real beauty from the K Collection
Xerjoff Layla is a fragrance from the K Collection that really won me over.
Oriental, spicy, woody and even almost powdery-creamy and slightly sweet towards the end.

The fragrance opens directly with this oriental wind blowing around your nose. Nevertheless, it is definitely pleasant and not overloaded with spices.
I think the blend of clove and nutmeg is super balanced.

In the background you can already perceive this soft, elegant from the further course.
A really great ylang-ylang note provides this certain elegance.
Great pleasant "flowery" impressions come into the nose. This impression complements the other notes perfectly.

For me, the ylang-ylang note also carries through to the end.
This note is accompanied by a slightly dry vanilla and a beautiful woody component.
It also becomes a little creamy and almost powdery in this area.

Layla is definitely one of, if not the most pleasing fragrance from the
K Collection.

The performance is okay to good. There are days when it "only" felt like it lasted six hours,
but there were also days when it lasted eight or even ten hours.

The beautiful Layla
The only really bad thing about this fragrance is the fact that its name always reminds me of this really awful song.

The Layla starts off spicy and a little alcoholic. The whole thing is accompanied by an appropriately dosed sweetness. Especially in the opening, I find that it has a certain similarity to Side Effect. Gradually, however, the spiciness becomes more multi-faceted and the fragrance becomes almost a little creamy in the drydown thanks to the vanilla.

Unlike Side Effect - which simply lends itself as a well-known comparison model - Layla is not so unmistakably masculine. Mainly because the wicked tobacco is missing. However, it is primarily intended for fall and winter, as it is somehow a typical sweet and spicy fragrance. I see it especially when going out.

Longevity and sillage are pretty good, but not overwhelming. You could complain more about the price. I think it's very good, but it should also be noted that it's not a revolutionary work by XerJoff.

Overall, Layla is a pleasing and sweet spicy fragrance that works very unisex. However, some may find it challenging. If in doubt, just give it a try!
