The king on horseback ride
The Alexandria DNA has been with me for quite some time now and "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Perfume) | XerJoff" was one of my first high-priced niche fragrances.
Immediately, when I tested the "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Perfume) | XerJoff" for the first time at that time, the DNA has drawn me into your spell and I fell in love directly.
The more I dived into the world of niche fragrances and the more my nose was trained to unusual, niche and special fragrances, the more I went in search of polarizing fragrances.
And so also came the desire to experience my beloved Alexandria DNA with more powerful, animalic oud and just a little more "niche".
And that's exactly what "Oud Stars - Alexandria Orientale | XerJoff" offered me.
The DNA is definitely there and yet there are some variations.

But what does it smell like?

He starts with a decent load of Malaysian oud. The oud comes very strong, intense and also something stall therefore. It dominates the first half hour on my skin.
The longer the fragrance develops on my skin in conjunction with the body heat, the more the powerful oud interweaves with the other notes, which present themselves very round and coordinated.
The Oriental is less sweet compared to the A2, which can be explained by the lack of cinnamon. It is also less floral than the A2, which has lavender in the top note in addition to rose.
For this, the Oriental has significantly more spice and slightly drier woody notes.
In addition, a very noble leather note joins, which makes the composition edgier and also somewhat more masculine.
In the course of the fragrance I also perceive very high-quality, powdery notes of iris, which gives the overall work a lot of depth.
The drydown is also again a highlight in the composition, in addition to the strong oud, as the Alexandria DNA combines with all the special features of the Orientale and leaves a beautiful note on the skin.
H/S are really brute. The Orientale radiates enormously and you are definitely noticed. In the office, I therefore recommend him really only lightly dosed, where I even rather in the office to the A2 or A3 reach.
The shelf life is on my skin around 12 hours, with the first 4-6 hours radiate strongly and the sillage withdraws piece by piece near the skin.
Ideally suited I find the Orientale for leisure / evening or outdoor. By the merciless H / S and the strength, he can act in the office already times too violent and not serious enough.
For this he achieves in the matching set all the more effect.
For me, the Oriental is an incredibly great flanker, which perfectly complements the series for me.
I will definitely no longer do without him!

Very close to the Orient - and still the most suitable Alex for everyday use?
The Alexandria Orientale was originally offered and distributed exclusively for the UAE, but is now also available worldwide due to its particular popularity.

The Orientale is, as the name suggests, the strongest version of the Alexandria range and the entire Oud Stars line.
The fragrance is therefore probably a little difficult for untrained noses and non-lovers of distinctly oriental scents.
There are actually no major differences in the ingredients used compared to the other Alexandria versions. The Oriental places much less emphasis on floral notes and complements them with leather and herbal/spicy materials.

Freshly sprayed on, the fragrance unleashes an unbridled charge of animalic oud. For the first 30 minutes, you get a short farm stay that you first have to survive :D

After the first half hour, however, it totally transforms and becomes absolutely fine and socially acceptable. I would even go so far as to say that, with a very careful dosage, you can even wear it to the office.

The Oriental is much drier than the other two Alexandrias and has a great woody sweetness. The fragrance exudes a certain warmth and is incredibly creamy. The tobacco, which is not to be found in the A2 and A3, probably also helps here.

In fact, the fragrance remains close to the skin most of the time, but can mutate strongly at the right dosage.
At normal doses, it is wonderfully round, elegant and oriental.

As previously mentioned, the sillage is rather restrained. This is in stark contrast to the longevity.
The fragrance lasts a good 48 hours on my skin and can still be clearly smelled on the second day despite showering. So you can still layer it well on the second day or top it up if necessary :D

It feels like it lasts forever on clothes, but doesn't develop as beautifully as on the skin. As a general rule, you should always wear oud fragrances with real oud on your own skin. Body heat causes the fragrance to react completely differently and can be a little different for everyone.

Which Alexandria is the best?
In my opinion, each of the three variants has a clear right to exist. While the Alex II is much more sultry and radiates a lot and the Alex A III is more on the floral side of the Alexandria DNA, the Oriental is clearly... who would have thought it... more oriental and masculine. It is more restrained, rounder and creamy. A completely different fragrance but incredibly well done. Orientale is definitely (after the first half hour) the most relaxed and quieter of the three and can therefore be worn more easily in everyday life.

In any case, the motto here is: test it!

The easternmost western oud?
Oud is the ingredient that got me into the world of fragrances in the first place, with Tom Ford Oud Wood (yes, there is probably little or no oud in it ;) ) I became interested in fragrances.
Fragrances that not everyone has or wears (yes, everyone has worn it, but I didn't know that at the time).
I quickly realized that this ingredient is very expensive, very hard to get, but also very special.
Then I smelled Xerjoff fragrances for the first time from a sample set of the Oud Stars range and I have to admit it was very special, I had never smelled anything like it before, let alone even heard of Xerjoff. However, the price at the time was what put me off buying a Fars or Alexandria II.
"That much money for a fragrance?"
That was my thought, but this statement was revised comparably quickly and the first niche fragrances found their home in my collection.
However, I avoided Xerjoff for a long time, I don't know why, perhaps because my brother then bought Accento and Alexandria II and I simply wanted to wear something else.
But then came the moment when I heard about Orientale for the first time..
It was supposed to be more animalistic, more oriental than its brothers, so it was actually exactly what I wanted.
Some time later, I had the opportunity to buy an Orientale for a good price, so he moved in.

Well, what can I say?
He is exactly what I was promised, more animalistic, more oriental, a little harder than his brothers at the beginning.
Nevertheless, it has this unique Xerjoff DNA, noble, refined, projecting, long-lasting, simply to the point Moreover, it does not lose the typical Alexandria DNA, it is its darker, more dangerous, initially cowshed-working brother.
Lasting power and sillage are perfect, definitely a statement fragrance.
We don't need to talk about the packaging, several boxes, one made of leather, inside the beautiful bottle wrapped in tissue paper - that's top drawer, no question about it.

As for the oud in this fragrance, I have to say that since I have now reached Areej le Doré and Ensar, it is a more tolerable, more western oud, slightly animalic (even if Ensar or ALD are not necessarily animalic), so quite different from a more floral OSM from MFK, for example, but perfect in this composition.

In terms of price, I think it's already high, but for a fragrance for special occasions, you're happy to pay more and you wear it correspondingly less often, so it's still justifiable.

So a real recommendation to buy for anyone who might want to delve further into the ingredient oud, or perhaps would like to delve a little deeper into the subject of animalics, or simply for those who want to enjoy what I consider to be the most beautiful eastern western oud creation from an absolute top distributor to date.

Have fun with it!

I was looking for you
I smelled Alexandria II for the first time a year ago. I knew immediately that I needed this fragrance. So I bought it.

After several months of intensive use, I knew I had to try all the fragrances in the Alexandria range! So off to Lubner in Hamburg.

I cautiously asked the saleswoman what the Alex Orientale was like. She said that the opening was characterized by animalic notes. A term that meant little to me so far, so my first real experience with strong oud. I sprayed it on my wrist and to be honest, the first thing I thought was: BAH! What the hell is that? The smell reminded me of my first time with a driver's license, when I drove through villages where the pasture was freshly turned. Disappointed, I left the store.

After some time (20-30 minutes) strolling through the town, I smelled my wrist again. I was practically frozen. This animalic scent from the beginning has transformed into something I can hardly describe. A DNA that seems almost regal to me. What I perceive is the green apple, light basil and incense and something "majestic" (the oud?).

At this point, I was hooked again... I want it! I need it!

Really a very strong, beautiful and well-rounded fragrance.

What also impressed me: I can still smell the fragrance after 24 hours. And it has turned into something fresh? Maybe from the iris? Speechless...

Then last week I discovered a good offer in the souk and now it has moved in.
Durability and sillage really good, but I also expect that at this price!

Super stuff
Some time ago I tested Alex2 and couldn't understand why it was so popular. The rose was far too present for me, the oud too little and overall it lacked oomph. In short, I opted for an Amouage that day which had exactly what I was looking for and wasn't softened by a rose.
A few months later, I was browsing Parfumo and came across Alex Orientale by chance. My interest was immediately piqued and I was once again so crazy that I ordered it blind.
What can I say, there it was, the Alexandria for men, without the floral scent, but with a nice subtle leather note, woods and plenty of oud. I was/am very enthusiastic about the fragrance. The first 15-20 minutes are strong and demanding, but for me it's a far cry from cowshed. After that it is simply fantastic. It wraps itself warmly, creamily and stylishly around its wearer and gives him a good feeling and a good time. I don't always notice it, but every few minutes it hits my nose and I'm always surprised at how great it smells.
2 sprays are all you need to stand out quickly, anything more can be intrusive and annoy people. Even with the two sprays, I've been told that I'm a bit over-perfumed.
The bottle is, of course, typical for Xerjoff.
Best regards

Less oriental than Alex 3, but more of the medicinal touch, which, weird as it sounds, works really well. Nice twist

Alex II backbone, crisp green apple with a woody oud, replacing the cinnamon + lavender with incense + basil. More sour, more green/herbal.

Oudier compared to A2 from beginning to end but Oud remains pleasant. Oud very prominent in the opening but tones down. Still close to A2.

One of the best from Xerjoff. Nonetheless it's all marketing and branding: perfumery is something else.
