Nimm2 lemon candy!
I expected a pastry scent and got a candy scent. More precisely: The opening smells exactly like the yellow lemon hard candies with a gooey filling from the brand Nimm2. For some reason I thought of an already licked candy when I first smelled it, but I can't really explain why. It doesn't smell like saliva, but there is something that gives it that warm, wet feel like it was already in someone's mouth. Sorry if that sounds gross, I'm just trying to be accurate here. I was not too impressed at first.
But I got to admit that the drydown is better and even a bit pastry-like. At this point it's closer to a completely baked though vanilla cake, still with hints of lemon candy. Very warm and sweet. If you sniff really closely, a subtle woodsy background hum can be detected, but this is not complex or sophisticated. Just a very literal interpretation of food.
Even though the opening is weird, I don't really mind the scent. The drydown is fine. But lemon cake themed fragrances aren't exactly rare and I think there are many better options. If you like vanilla and citrus, try things like Kerosene Unknown Pleasures, Xerjoff Lira or the Shalimar Souffle line. Sure, they're all more expensive, but in this case, the upcharge is worth it.
