Mom's Bridal Bouquets
Blue Bird Orchid is clever, playful, and miserably underrated. Among the four items in the Orchid collection, this instantly captured me. The note about the nose bringing the lily of the valley to life in this cologne caught my attention. It is a bright, dazzled, sparkling, vivid, yet delicate lily of the valley with a tuberose boost. This is one of the closest reproductions of the Lily of the Valley I have worn. Soft, watery, yet creamy, green and white without smelling like soap or laundry.

It welcomes me with a watery, green, dewy, delicate white floral bouquet. Right away, I get freshness. A fresh, floral, clean, ozonic, and aquatic nuance is underneath. For a few instants, I even catch a sort of aldehydic shades, hairspray-like, courtesy of the ozonic and solar accords. On a rainy day, imagine breathing in a bouquet of lilies of the valley glistening in the dew and raindrops of a meadow freshly opened in the morning. You must like fatty white blossoms because they are the keynote, starting from the first spritz.

After a few moments, a green, aquatic and salty tinge manifests itself. In addition to the small lily of the valley flower, I can certainly smell the tuberous narcotic as a queen note. I also notice the jasmine flower when it is first sprayed on my skin. Love this simple perfume! So clean and airy, and the more I smell it, the more I like it. Then, the intermediate phase is watery, green and white floral. Not overly wet, it smells of freshly cut green stems and sap, with water droplets dripping, differentiating it from L'Eau d'Issey Eau de Toilette juice.

This fragrance is built around the intoxicating scent of fleshly tuberose flower, which does not explicitly appear in the list, and the salty lily of the valley, which takes centre stage. She thinks of these mischievous white flowers resting on large damp green leaves, a warm sea breeze and a shimmering, silent reflection in the water. It's a sensual treat, and I find it friendly and pretty, very floral but with no buts that transcend into being too feminine.

As it approaches the dry-down, a faintly bittersweet essence appears, likening the scent of the fragrant, rich vanilla pod with a subtle almond or freshly cut hay undertone. Still, it stays away from the gourmandise zone. Then, it settles into having some lily of the valley with quieter green notes and a faint earthy undertone.

Blue Bird Orchid was a surprising revelation, simple and semi-linear. Absolutely no heat, no spiciness, no tanginess, no fruitiness, no grime, no resinousness and no woodiness. It's about freshness, bitterness, freshly cut hay, ivy, and spirited gin. A pleasant white freshness like fresh out of the shower. Unique among Zara's past releases and almost futuristic. Nothing really revolutionary, but still beautiful and cute in its simplicity. I prefer it as a summer scent, but I'm sure many will love it all year round. It is perfect for the warm seasons if you like green and clean without smelling like laundry musk. Totally office-appropriate and harmless, the white linen shirt is de rigueur. It's a pleasant and refreshing scent for hot days, but the sillage and longevity are not brilliant. This one needs to be re-sprayed throughout the day. But it remains an excellent perfume for work, leisure, and outdoor outings. You should think about it if you are a fan of the genre.

I'm basing my judgment on a bottle I've owned since June 2023 (BC 30470).

As if Amarige and Bloom gently and softly intertwine in the air, conjuring a child of love. Beautiful warm floral scent.

Delicate, pretty, creamy lily. The first warm days in the park, everything is blooming and fragrant.
For me, the most beautiful scent of the new Orchid line.
