Tart licorice with iso e super

Recently I bought the Zara Layering Set, which combines this fragrance as a base click pen together with bottlings of the Zara Emotions N°07 - Fleur de Patchouli and the Zara Emotions N°08 - Bohemian Bluebells. The latter fragrance does not do justice to the words to describe him, because at the end of the sentence he has already evaporated again (Completely without base then it somehow also does not go). The number 07 I like quite well and it also stayed a little longer on the skin... But apart from the fact that I already have too many patchouli scents, these are not the subject here.
I use the click pen now actually only in the way suggested to me: As a layering base. A bit sourish he is at first, nelkig (hmmm...), later sweet and woody, pleasant for my nose, and also really quite long-lasting. Thus, it forms a good foundation for my often far too light floral fragrances, which often have no base as a foundation, you know ;) He is thus a wonderful addition to the rest of my collection, let's see if after using up also still the big bottle may move in.
Addendum: When testing Perles de Lalique it fell like dandruff from my nose: What is probably most in here is Iso e Super. Write here with pleasure, whether you feel that perhaps also in such a way or whether I am wrong there. Meanwhile, by the way, the bottle of the fragrance has also moved in.

My layering secret weapon for autumn

Ebony Wood presents itself right at the beginning with a concise clove, which comes up with a strong, almost challenging presence. A fragrance that you have to like in any case.

What makes Ebony Wood unique for me are the woody notes. These give the fragrance a remarkable authenticity. You can literally feel the rough texture of the wood, which gives the fragrance a certain depth and complexity. These woody nuances weave cleverly with the clove, creating a harmonious blend between sharpness and warmth.

Overall, Ebony Wood is a unisex fragrance. He also convinces with its excellent durability, and projection. At the price an absolute must-have.

Occasionally I feel the strong clove and the intensity of the wood notes as a little too strong. However, I have found the perfect layering combo for me, with which I wonderfully balance this stricter fragrance part: For those looking for a more balanced option, I recommend pairing Ebony Wood with 'By the Fireplace'. Its smoky elements blend seamlessly into Ebony Wood's fragrance DNA and, together with the beautiful vanilla note, create a delightfully soft, spicy scent that is perfect for the fall season.

Cool days - clear head

Oh, Ebony Wood. I haven't smelled another one like you yet.
Now that winter is setting in, I have euphorically brought out all my beautiful gourmands again and enjoyed them very much.
But sometimes my dear sweet vanilla fragrances are a little too much for me.
Because here comes the question I often ask myself: How do I choose my fragrance for the day?
There are definitely fragrances that simply suit certain seasons. Citrusy aquatic scents in summer, fragrances that smell of freshly baked pastries for winter. But it's not that easy for me. I also choose fragrances according to my mood.
And this is where it can sometimes get complicated, because especially when I have stressful days, I sometimes can't stand heavy fragrances; they stress me even more during the day.
But Ebony Wood makes my decision easy. Because even though it is clearly an autumnal and wintry fragrance for me, it is not heavy or stressful. It is simply there and gives me a wonderful spiciness throughout the day that is slightly sweet, but not overpowering.
The fragrance progression is linear, which for me is also a positive aspect. You know what you have as soon as you spray it on. And accordingly, I perceive it as unisex.
If you get the chance, you should definitely smell it!

Dancing on the Verge of Gourmand

From the very first sniff I felt this Zara is something different. Ebony Wood is a member of Zara Emotions line, created by the perfumer Jo Malone of Jo Loves brand and ex-perfumer and probably the ex-owner of Jo Malone. So what is so different in this Zara line compared to their standard offering? It possesses a standard Jo Malone procedure – the creation is usually based on one or the major notes. Furthermore, the compositions has some natural vibe, especially contrasted to usually extremely “synthetic” Zara style. Ebony Wood is no example from the Emotions line. It opens up very unusual for Zara, fragrance layers are somehow easily recognizable, clean cut and almost very natural. Very nice pepper, accompanied by the herbal vibe of clove and some soft minty nuances. The darker, woodsy base notes of burning Guiac wood and cedar come into play almost instantly. This base is very nice, cozy piece of burning woods dancing on the verge of gourmand composition. Like a light version of Carner Barcelona Palo Santo, a full blooded milky woodsy gourmand. However, this dance ends too early due to the running out of the cash spent.
Ebony Wood is a nice creation with the usual Zara problem of low performance. Nevertheless, a solid Zara spin-off attempt.

Yes, we (men) can!

Every year, at Christmas time, my girlfriend and I have a habit of traveling and visiting European cities. The last chance we had to do that, we went to Bordeaux. Before I travel, I like to buy a new perfume for the trip. The choice was this fantastic perfume.

Never in my life, I thought about buying a unisex perfume because I had doubts about when to use it. The fact that took me to risk it was that the perfumer was Jo Malone. I never regret this choice, because I ended up being addicted (as well as my girlfriend) to a perfume so different from what is usual. In the streets of Bordeaux, I never felt inhibited in using it, since it is one of my best memories of the trip!

The cold of winter, the Christmas spirit and ebony wood made the trip unforgettable.

It has good quality for the price, even though it's a Zara perfume. The opening is full of berries, the mid notes are spicy and sweet and there is some woody (ebony) bitterness.

Many will consider a perfume for women (despite being considered unisex), but I think we should expand the horizons because we men can also be versatile in this field. It is not at all a perfume for spring or summer, and I recommend it to be used in autumn and winter.

Longevity is incredible, probably because of ebony wood. The sillage is good, despite not being the strongest point (I didn't care about this factor because the fragrance is strong). The bottle is typical of the style used by Jo Malone: simple and clean.

For this price (100ml 25 €) I recommend!
