There is a guilty pleasure in being a Guilty deceitful imitation
To begin with, there are pretty three different Zara scents named Silver: Silver, Man Silver, and For Him Silver respectively. The one I am gonna review today is Silver, which is classified as an aromatic fougère and lists fragrance notes of lime, lavender, orange blossom, neroli, cedar, sandalwood, and amber.
Zara Silver opens up very fresh, cheerful, and modern with a blur of notes. I can clearly smell, all at once, sweet lime mingled with lavender and enchanted with some sweet floral orange blossom and accents of pink pepper. These notes are sheer. There’s a hint of ozone freshness and sports fragrance herbal-menthol as the cologne develops, and these aromas make me think of “masstige” teen body washes... The word masstige is a blend of the words mass and prestige and has been described as "prestige for the masses." But perhaps that’s on purpose because Zara Silver is targeting the elusive social-networking consumer, a much-sought-after and slippery target that the perfume industry hopes can help revive its waning appeal.
As the fragrance progresses, white flowers with dominant orange blossom become stronger with a nice touch of clean and a bit bitter neroli, and a warm woody accord makes its appearance. Creamy cedar and sandalwood are mixed with patchouli, which is so tame here that even those who dislike this note will be able to wear it easily. None of its more pungent, rich and animalic aspects are present here. Overall, the fragrance smells nice, when the amber comes in.
The base is more cedar than patchouli. I can detect a hint of slightly ambery vanilla, but it's not listed in the notes. So, the drydown is all about woody, floral, and moderately sweet and I get some woodiness, amber, and flowers. I like it because it is easy to wear. Worth it if you see it for just 15€.
Zara Silver is a versatile fragrance, which can be used easily in the cool and cold weather, day or night. I think most of the people don't like the fact that this fragrance is quite linear. No big surprises, not really a deep, complex scent but the beauty is in its simplicity. This juice does the "job" well, for seducing people and get attention with a nice, fresh smell!
It's masculine, sexy, warm, and lasts pretty long on my skin, and it won't choke people around you. Anyone who smells this fragrance on you will come closer to smell it better. And that's what you want, right? I am kidding, but it is a compliments getter, seriously.
Well, if you are anything like me, and love Gucci Guilty, you just might be giving a chance to this jewel without prejudice.
This review bases upon a 100ml (3.4 Fl. oz) I own since April 2016.
