Wearable Art
This is a unique fragrance which keeps morphing until around the 1-2 hour mark where it remains. This will be very polarizing, but is taking Zoologist back to its more daring roots. There is a place for safe fragrances, and this strange little nugget, as well.

When first sprayed it smells like algae water, cave dirt and a strange pine almost licorice scent. But the licorice disappears quickly leaving a spicy green note with algae water, cave and cement. It also has an oily note which is very apparent. So strange, but intriguing!

This is a great lasting scent for me. Usually I have an issue with Zoologist's longevity, but this one was still going strong after 5 hours, though the scent never really gets to overwhelming. The notes are gentler than Bee or T-Rex, but it doesn't dissipate like Cow or Dragonfly.

This will be very polarizing, but I am in love with this wearable art. I couldn't stop smelling this throughout the day, and I still can't figure out where that green note is coming from!

A solid 8.5/10 for me. I can't wait to buy a full bottle once it's released. The travel size won't last!

Sure is wet rocks
Well, I fell for the hype. This is like the diurnal version of Night Flyer by Ellen Covey (first version of zoologist Bat).

Immediately I can see massive limestone slabs jutting out of a mountain with constant water slithering down - but the perfume overall feels quite dry. Maybe dusty? I’m thinking concrete. There’s also an intangible sweetness in here that feels similar to a lot of designer freshies. Interesting to see this here as the perfumer’s - Spyros - other works feel much more round and niche. Baruti has quite a signature through line.

Overall, I think this is a fine fragrance. Feels much in line with a traditional male cologne with a distinct edge. But nothing crazy to pick it out of the pack. For something more interesting with this similar edge I would just go straight for Night Flyer.

My friend who sniffed it unprompted off the travel vile said “ughhhhh…. this is a male manipulator’s scent” but she also only likes florals and vanillas.
I’ll refrain from getting a full bottle of this scent.

Wet Rocks
Wow. This genuinely smells like wet rocks and algae. It's definitely more of an aquatic scent but it does give off some earthy + green notes as well. I'm also getting something salty/spicy in this scent, but I'm not sure what it is. Maybe the iodine?? Although, I don't really know what iodine is supposed to smell like haha.

I'm really impressed with Olm. Is is something I can see myself wearing often? No... but I still think it's a really well-made scent. I don't know how Zoologist managed to create such a realistic, atmospheric scent, but they did. It lasts forever on me, too!

The warm heart of a cold cave
Some niche fragrances take time for me to 'get my head around', and Zoologist has given me a few of those slow-burn loves, but I fell for Olm instantly.

I’d expected the damp, mineral qualities hinted at in the concept, but the sweet and almost vegetal notes took me by surprise, in a good way. I thought it would feel somewhat cold and distant, yet to me Olm has a warmth and comfort I didn’t anticipate.

The opening is fresh, wet, and earthy, like mushrooms and petrichor after a summer rain. Slowly, it shifts into something sweeter, spicier and to my nose even faintly smoky, almost like incense. It's probably the amber. This stage reminds me a little of Squid, but where Squid leans a bit heavy and sticky to me, Olm is lighter, fresher and friendlier. Its salty aquatic touch feels more delicate, coming from algae rather than ambergris, giving it a softer, more natural sea breeze effect.

I love how Olm combines the qualities of a dark, mysterious aquatic with a wetter, earthier profile - exactly in my taste range. The drydown is soothing and cosy, with musk, cashmeran and creamy sandalwood wrapping everything in a gentle, slightly sweet embrace. It’s also very wearable, never tipping into heaviness.

The imagery behind the scent (limestone caves, mineral water, hidden algae and pale blind salamanders) really comes through in the atmosphere of the perfume. Love the concept and love the outcome.

I’ll enjoy my decant for now and I’m already looking forward to a full bottle when it returns in 2026.

A multilayered subterranean adventure that's weird in a "huh" way, the strongest notes are wet stone and iodine.

A strange yet wonderful algae, cave note w/a hint of cement, sludge & amber. There is a spicy green note which makes no sense, but I'm down!

The cave where the source for Empty Wishes Well springs! Cold, damp stone - "strange" as a compliment.
