If there's ice cream in the note... does it smell like ice cream? Part 3
I reflected on my previous statement that “they all smell pretty much the same.” I realized I shouldn't make such a careless judgment, so I went back to the shop and experienced their full service again. Then I tried the one I was most curious about.
Are you a gourmand? If so... this contains “ice cream” fragrance notes, with vanilla present in the top, middle, and base notes, so you might have high expectations. But take a deep breath. This is more of a “woody” scent. No way! From every angle... isn't this a vanilla gourmand?! No. It's a unisex woody scent. Other reviews mentioned it evoking TF's Tobacco Vanille or MM's By the Fireplace. To my nose, it's more of a vanilla-based woody scent. But I want to give a proper evaluation, so I'll hold off on a final judgment until I try it again. Also, I said “they all smelled the same,” but strictly speaking, that's not entirely true, though it could be interpreted that way. Some scents have completely different personalities, but as a characteristic of this brand, they all use a “soft white musk.” This is tailored for Japanese tastes, so there are no punchy spicy types overall. Therefore, saying “they all seem the same” was a simplistic interpretation based on a lack of understanding. My apologies. I'll add more after trying again.
