I started my day with The Last Light in Thebes by Anomalous. In its core, this is an Iris scent, a very beautiful, well-balanced, masterfully composed one at that. The white flowers, together with the apricot, give it a bright, zesty opening. The mid is dominated by this beautiful Iris, which has just the right amount of powderiness. The dry down is a clean woody, musky, ambergris base! I sprayed it around 8 in the morning and after 9 hours it is still on my skin though detectability in the air lasts for a solid 5-6 hours.
I feel like the perfumer is overdoing himself with every new release! I am happy that I own the #10/30 of this limited release!

As this is by far my most beloved fragrance house, I was hoping to love this also.

And it was not disappointing! When you spray it, the first thing you’ll meet is apricot, ripe and sweet. It improves to a powdery and slighty flowery scent, but not light and feminine. But dark and powdered flower. The musk and oud makes it stay al day long, not too overpowering but just enough to make you noticeable to the people around you.

Off the initial spray it instantly smells like purple starbursts , it settles into this plush velvety apricot seed. The orris and iris is detectable quite early giving it this subtle liquorice scent which sits underneath. It keeps getting better , creamy oud , sandalwood animalic warmth trifecta which adds richness it’s utterly incredible. It’s a masterful creation. Unique , alluring and addictive. I can appreciate that they included Ceylon sandalwood oil so you can experience the smooth creaminess to its fullest whilst also being able to enjoy it in the last light in Thebes.
