Dark and comforting
Instead of a true-to-life cacao gourmand, Cacao Porcelana is a perfect balance between bitter and sweet, edible and perfumey.

I sense a lot of patchouli here, at least as much as the titular cacao, maybe even more. It's very earthy, but also musky and kind of polished, not the green or dirty kind.
At first I thought this scent was too dark and robust to be named after porcelain, but in the drydown, it starts to have a smoothness to it that makes me understand the name.
Jasmine is incorporated into the scent very nicely. It's not a floral fragrance by any means, but this one flower is easily noticeable and makes the whole scent feel more refined and sophisticated.
I also get a hint of rum and balsamic notes that round out the scent even further. The rum feels light and sweet in a way, almost a little fruity, so it has an uplifting effect and keeps everything from being too dense and heavy. Like secretly drinking a summery cocktail under your warm blanket by the fireplace, because why not?

This reminds me a little bit of the long discontinued Yves Rocher Néonatura Cocoon, which in turn was a distant, stripped down relative of Mugler's Angel. A dark, patchy chocolate scent with an alluring sweetness to it, just like this one. Cacao Porcelana is less gourmand and more complex than I remember Cocoon though.

I love this kind of scent in general and find Cacao Porcelana to be an especially great take on the concept. Surely not a scent for everyone, if you have any problems with patchouli it won't work. But if you like patch and cacao or dark chocolate, it's gorgeous and feels so warming and cozy. A true winter fragrance that I can't imagine wearing on a sunny day. Wonderful!

TOBACCO IN CACAO’S CLOTHING
This opens like a cloud of slightly sweet cocoa powder on a bed of tobacco. It smells high-quality, well-crafted, and delicious… The cocoa feels nutty and softly sweet thanks to the tonka, all resting on a woody backdrop. Think dark chocolate truffles dusted with cocoa powder, served on a wooden platter by someone who definitely charges extra for “artisanal presentation.”

As it settles, the cocoa quietly packs its bags and disappears. The drydown becomes mostly warm, woody tobacco with medium, airy projection. A smooth, very wearable tobacco. Lovely, yes, but I wish the perfume smelled true to its name: more cocoa, more chocolate, more of that delicious opening. But hey, you win some, you lose some, and sometimes you just smell like a fancy chocolate shop with a weird secret. The tobacco is genuinely beautiful. I just wish the cocoa stuck around longer instead of ghosting me by the 30-minute mark.

Creamy and boozy chocolate
This one smells like chocolate milk and rum. It sounds weird but it works!

I found the beginning quite aggressive but then, some white flowers arrived (jasmine?) and allowed everything to become quite soft, elegant and delicate.

A nice scent of creamy and boozy chocolate.

Too bad the price is so high...

Boozy chocolate
Tobacco, rum, davana, tonka, vanilla all harmonize wonderfully with the cocoa that takes center stage and comes across very powdery.
In the drydown, it becomes a bit greener due to the davana; strangely, it also turns somewhat animalic, as if one were perceiving oud that is not listed here.
Fortunately, this is hardly noticeable; everything revolves around the powdery cocoa.
A scent that stands out from the crowd.
Not a typical chocolate scent like Chocolate Greedy.

Longevity is 8 hours with a projection of about 2 hours, well perceivable at arm's length.
As is often the case with chocolate, this is suitable for both genders.
I would say it leans more towards the younger crowd.

Cocoa Powder Meets Flowers
A clear theme runs through this fragrance: cocoa. Mostly unsweet and powdery soft.

What starts with bitter, cocoa-dusted rum balls quickly transforms into a cocoa-dusted, slightly smoky jasmine and ends for me in creamy, soft cocoa.

The middle is less boozy, the flowers almost a bit piercing in my nose. I can't quite pinpoint what bothers me there. At this point, the scent also loses its sweetness.

After a few hours, the fragrance is practically gone for those around me. On the skin, a beautiful creamy-woody veil of cocoa and vanilla remains. Completely unsweet. The flowers become more modest, taking a backseat.
I like it best at the very end. It's just a shame that no one else perceives it then.

Cacao Porcelana is absolutely unisex, autumnal, and floral-cocoa. More for oneself than for others.

This is indeed not a sweet gourmand: it's bitter and dark cacao. I think patchouli adds to the bitter/dark profile alot. Very woody drydown.

Bitter and dark cacao. Not chocolate. For people who are tired of the overly vanillic chocoöate scents out there. Very complex.

The milk chocolate unfortunately isn't very fresh anymore and has already started to go a bit off. Chocolate and immortelle just don't seem to harmonize.

This cocoa just doesn't hit the mark for me. I find the floral notes rather bothersome. Beautiful patchouli base. Quite subtle.

At first, it smells more like milk chocolate that was left out and forgotten for a while. Then a hint of vanilla comes through.
